Marcin Jaworski made a raise to 1,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Brandon Mifsud in the hijack. He three-bet to 2,800, but Jaworski upped the ante once more, to 6,200, once it was his turn to act again.

Mifsud played with some calling chips for a bit but ultimately took one last look at his cards before throwing them into the muck.

Iraklis Manikaros opened to 900 first-to-act and was called by Fabio Peluso from the hijack and Donato De Bonis in the small blind. Mykhailo Gutyi then squeezed to 5,700 from the big blind. Manikaros and Peluso folded, but De Bonis called all in for less to put himself at risk.

Marcin Lesniewski opened to 800 under the gun, and was met with a three-bet by PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas in middle position to 2,500. Vasileios Tsaknis swiftly produced a cold four-bet from the button of 7,000.

Lesniewski pondered for a moment before reaching for a five-bet jam of 30,000. Colillas quickly got out of the way, while Tsaknis considered his options for about 30 seconds. Tsaknis elected to call, slightly covering Lesniewski.

A chop appeared the most likely outcome, however the 6♥J♥Q♥10♦9♥ runout gave Lesniewski a king-high flush, providing him with a full double up. The unfortunate Tsaknis was left with 2,000.

The pot had already grown to a sizable 22,000 chips when Robert Binek checked from the small blind on a board of Q♠K♦8♠2♣. Silviu Baltateanu was the only other player in the hand, and he opted to add 6,000 more chips to the pot.

Binek made the call before the 5♦ river was checked down. Binek showed A♣Q♥ for a pair of queens, upon which Baltateanu responded: "Ace is good".

Supposedly playing a lesser queen, Baltateanu was left with 22,000 chips. However, he would lose them as well, as his seat was found empty not much later, signifying his elimination.

The turn brought the 7♠, with Sitbon checking to his opponent. Merva quickly moved all in for a pot-sized bet of 10,900.

Sitbon gave Merva a look, seemingly reluctant to release his hand, but after some thought, he eventually folded to give Merva the pot.

With 22,200 chips in the pot before that, Ali thought the situation over for a bit before committing to a call to put his tournament life at risk.
