Theelen Leads the Turn

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

With about 6,500 in the middle the flop read 876, and Pieter Theelen checked from the big blind before Tarik Ozdemir fired a bet of 2,500. Theelen called.

When the 7 paired the turn, Theelen took the lead, tossing 1,500 across the line, and that was enough for Ozdemir to surrender his hand.

Rodriguez Knows Another Good Start

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

On a completed board of Q255K, Antonio Rodriguez made a bet of 18,500 from early position into the pot of 25,000.

His opponent was Kacper Pyzara in middle position, and he thought it over for a bit before flicking in a call.

Rodriguez showed J8 for a runner-runner flush, and Pyzara flashed his AK before flinging it into the muck.

Maria Lampropulos was also spotted at this table, playing a stack of roughly 20 big blinds.

Verbraeken Good at Showdown

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Picking up the action on a board of 10K53, Jordan Verbraeken check-called a bet of 5,000 from Valentin Cristea.

The river brought the J and Verbraeken checked to his opponent. After some thought Cristea checked back and mucked after Verbraeken showed Qx10x for second pair. Verbraeken scooped a 20,000 pot.

Whitehead's Trips no Good as Begni Sends him Out

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Three players saw the AJ5 flop, and Malik Nouri checked before Gary Whitehead tossed a bet of 2,600 into the pot of 6,300. Roberto Begni was next to act and made the call before Nouri released his hand.

The A fell on the turn and Whitehead continued for 5,600. Begni pushed his entire stack of about 29,000 across the line, putting Whitehead into the tank for almost two minutes. Eventually, Whitehead called off his stack of roughly 20,000 and both hands were on their backs.

Gary Whitehead: A6
Roberto Begni: 55

It was a nasty turn for Whitehead as he made trip aces, but Begni was in the lead with his fives full of aces. The 7 river changed nothing as Whitehead exited the table.

Giménez Goes Runner-Runner to Leave Uda Short

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Artus Giménez opened to 1,600 from the hijack and was called by Chinatsu Uda in the big blind.

Uda proceeded to check-call Giménez down on every street. First for 1,200 on the 2K4 flop, then for 4,500 on the A turn, and finally for 11,000 on the 5 turn.

Uda turned over AQ after calling the river for top pair, but it was no good against the 33 of Giménez for a straight and he collected the pot.

Anders Christiansen: KQ
Anthony Stumbo: AJ

Christiansen hit top pair on the 910Q flop. But the K on the turn completed Stumbo's straight, leading to Christiansen's elimination after the river 5.

Micallef Busts Mamou

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a board of J102 Matthew Micallef had check-raised Gary Mamou, only to be met with a prompt all-in. Micallef quickly called, putting Mamou at risk.

Gary Mamou: AJ
Matthew Micallef: J10

Despite holding top pair, Mamou was behind Micallef's two pair. Mamou had additional outs to the heart flush draw, but the K turn and 10 river brought no assistance for him and he departed the table.
