Nezer Busts to Pitic On Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Radu Pitic
Radu Pitic

Or Nezer raised from middle position and Radu Pitic called in the big blind.

The flop came 643. Nezer bet 15,000 and Pitic called. The turn came the 2. Nezer switched to a check and Pitic bet 27,000, which Nezer called.

The river was the Q. With a flush on board, Nezer checked again and Pitic pushed all in for the rest of Nezer's stack, around 80,000 effective. Nezer put his hand on his head and looked anguished at the decision, put to the test on the stone cold bubble.

Nezer made the call and revealed AK for the king-high flush. Pitic, however, flipped over AQ for the ace-high flush to win the pot.

Nezer was eliminated on the bubble. The rest of the players bagged and tagged to return for Day 2.

Day 1d of the €1,100 Eureka Main Event, running as part of the 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour at the Hilton Prague, has now reached its conclusion. A total of 473 entries were made; up 351 from the turbo flight Day 1b yesterday. After 18 levels of play, 71 advanced to Day 2 and reached the money.

As this chaotic flight died down, Amir Mozaffarian bagged the overall chip lead taking through a total of 700,000 for the Day 2 restart. Mozaffaria is nearly 220,000 in front of his closest competitors Mathias Bayer and Thomas Haverstad who still managed to accumulate an impressive 483,000 and 473,000 respectively.

Day 1d welcomed some of the best players in Europe and beyond, including PokerStars Ambassadors Benjamin Spragg and Fintan Hand. The two popular streamers tangled in a hand on level 10 that saw Spragg send Hand to the rail. But it was Hand who would have the last laugh; having re-entered the tournament, Hand managed to bag a stack of 92,000 for the Day 2 restart, while Spragg has yet to progress.

Other notable names to hit the rail included UKIPT Player of the Year David Docherty and EPT Main Event Champion Steve O'Dwyer.
PokerStars ambassador Marle Spragg wasn’t so fortunate either, having been eliminated on level 4 shortly after her flopped nut flush was rivered by the quads of her opponent, Robin Sommer.

Those fortunate enough to find a bag for Day 2 included Ole Schemion (172,000), Antoine Labat (292,000) and Jon Kyte (177,000), each of whom will be looking to add to their already impressive resumes here on the EPT circuit.

Day 2 will kick off on December 9th, but before then, players have plenty more opportunities to get into the mix with flights 1e and turbo flight 1f happening tomorrow at 11 am and 6 pm respectively.

The PokerNews live reporting team will return to bring you more coverage of the Eureka Poker Tour Main Event here at EPT Prague, so stay tuned.
