Atmaca Cracks Aces in Monster Hand; Busts Borowski

A hugely significant hand has just taken place.

Marcus Borowski opened to 245,000 under the gun and was three-bet to 690,000 by Kirill Burtin in the next seat. Action folded around to Ercan Atmaca on the button, who pondered his options for some time. Atmaca then produced the cold four-bet to 1,600,000.

Back to Borowski, who exhaled deeply before announcing he was all-in for 2,750,000 total. Burtin looked perplexed, and clearly had a decision, as he thought about the position for some time before folding.

The action moved back to Atmaca, who made a quick call, with Borowski at risk.

Atmaca was in trouble, but the 7♠9♣10♦ flop give him additional hope with a straight draw, and sure enough the 8♥ rolled off on the turn to leave Borowski drawing dead.

The 6♠ completed the board, sending a huge pot to Atmaca and resulting in a cruel ending for Borowski.

After about a minute, he made the call and Atmaca tabled A♥K♣, which was no good against his A♣A♦.

Sebastiano Bonfiglio opened 300,000 under the gun and only Michel Karim made the call in the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of Q♠10♣9♣, and Karim checked before Bonfiglio announced all-in. Karim went into the tank, asking for a count. After being told it was 2,530,000, he took about 20 more seconds before surrendering the pot.

The dealer fanned a flop of 9♦6♥2♦, and Beuter continued for 450,000. Venneri called.

When the 6♣ fell on the turn, Beuter jammed for about 1,300,000 and Venneri snap-called.

Forman Busts Gradinaru

Forman asked for a count and on being informed the sum was 1,700,000, made the swift call to put Gradinaru at risk.

Gradinaru was in trouble and received no assistance from the K♦K♣J♠J♥10♦ runout which gave his opponent an ace-high straight.

The Q♥ paired the turn, and both players checked to the K♦ river. Kanme fired 255,000 across the line and as soon as the chips hit the felt, Patka called.

Kanme tabled J♦10x, for a missed straight draw, and Patka took down the pot with K♠10♥.
