€1,100 FPS Paris Main Event Continues With Day 1c

The PokerStars European Poker Tour has returned to Paris for the second year running, this time at the Le Palais de Congres conference center, which provides a much bigger, more spacious and more impressive venue that is sure to provide an unmatched player experience.

The €1,100 France Poker Series Main Event continues today with Day 1c, the third of six starting flights, commencing at midday local time. Day 1d also runs today, starting at 6 p.m. local time.

The same event last year attracted 2,071 entries. Local player Alan Goasdoue defeated fellow Frenchman Jean-Luc Labryga in heads-up play to earn the €287,830 top prize. With additional starting flights running, those numbers could well be topped this year.

Entry into the FPS Main Event grants participants starting stacks of 30,000 chips. Blind levels commence at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Late registration remains open until the start of Level 11 and players can take one entry per remaining flight.

Day 1a and Day 1b have already been completed, both concluding in the early hours of the morning. Fabian Niederreiter of Germany emerged as the overall chip leader with 776,000 chips and will be the player to beat for new entries looking to claim the top spot as the tournament progresses.

Plenty of other notable players have already bagged for Day 2, including Pokerstars Ambassadors Felix Schneiders (151,000) and Maria Konnikova (210,000) along with Marle Spragg (180,000).

With some 11,000 in the middle to the AQ5K turn, Nicolas Trolle bet 5,000 and Alexandru Farcasanu called. That led them to the 4 river on which Trolle moved all-in for 15,000.

Farcasanu mulled it over for a minute and then called. Trolle tabled the AA for top set and Farcasanu mucked the AK for top two pair and missed nut flush draw.

Jan Kesänen check-called a bet worth 13,000 on the A952 turn by Michael Kalfon and checked the 2 on the river. Kalfon pushed all-in and Kesänen beat him into the pot for the Frenchman to sheepishly flip over the KQ for air.

Kesänen won the pot with the 99 for nines full of deuces and has become one of the early chip leaders.

Theo Drach open raised, Guillaume Cochin three-bet to 2,500, then Drach four-bet to 5,600. Cochin called and action went to the flop.

The flop came 72K. Drach continued for 2,600 and Cochin called. The turn was the 4. Drach sized up to 6,200 and Cochin called again.

The river came the 6 and Drach moved all in for his last 13,000. Cochin called with a similar amount. Drach had AK for a pair of kings. Cochin, however, flipped over AA for pocket aces, an overpair to the board.

Cochin doubled up his stack and Drach with left with just 1,000 chips. He has since been eliminated.

The flop came 8910. Citrone bet 8,000 and Gililov moved all in for 20,200. Citrone called and players revealed their cards. Citrone had 1010 for a set of tens and Gililov had 74 for a flush draw and straight draw.

The turn came the 7, essentially a blank, but the river came the K to complete Gililov's flush. He won the pot to double up his stack, while Citrone was left with around 11,000.

The river came the A and Grasu quickly checked. Machado moved his chips into the middle for the rest of Grasu's stack, 13,300. Grasu snap-called. She flipped over AA for a set of aces, while Machado tabled JJ for a pair that he'd attempted to turn into a bluff.

Grasu won the pot to double her stack, leaving Machado short.
