"I Would Have Bet the River There"

Scotty Nguyen and Jason Mercier check down a {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board from the blinds. We didn't expect to find anyone with better than ace high, but Nguyen had {10-?}{9-?} and Mericer had paired a six on the river.

"I would have bet the river there," claimed Joe Hachem from the commentary box.

Kagawa's Turn

There's no sitting around here, as our players seem very keen not to let themselves dwindle but instead are more than happy to get those chips in whenever they see a hand or an opportunity.

This time it's Masaaki Kagawa getting his last 104,000 in preflop, with a very serious look on his face. No one calls, though, and he melts into a smile as he picks up the blinds and antes.

An Odd Hand and a Nice Pot for Juanda

Jason Mercier makes it 22,000 and John Juanda calls. All good.

Flop: {3-Spades} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} -- an interesting flop, which they both check.

Turn: {8-Hearts} -- now Juanda leads for 30,000, and Mercier calls.

River: {7-Clubs}

Juanda nods sagely, and bets out another 30,000. Mercier appears irked, and has a peek down at his hole cards. "I would have called a big bet," he sighs.

"Oh yes?" says a cheerful Juanda. "I'll re-do it, how much do you want me to bet?"

Mercier folds.

Kagawa Low

Masaaki Kagawa raised to 25,000 preflp, but Isaac Haxton pushed all in behind. Kagawa only had 78,000 left, but he deemed he had enough behind to make the fold. No cards were shown.
