Tandler Wins Three-Way All-In

Experienced poker pro George Danzer from Germany was in good shape getting all the chips in the pot, holding {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} against Marcus Tandler’s {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Maximilian Bracht’s {5-Spades}{6-Spades} on a {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. Danzer’s straight didn’t hold up since Tandler hit another three on the turn to make a full house. There was no five on the river to save Bracht and Tandler raked the 24k pot. George Danzer has left the building and Bracht is down to a mere 3k.

411 Players in Total

53 out of the 213 players that entered the PokerStars EPT German Open today have been eliminated so far. When added to the 198 players from yesterday’s Day 1, we had a total of 411 players in this year’s tournament. The prize structure will be presented within the next couple of hours.

Flush Eliminates De Wolfe

Roland De Wolfe
Roland De Wolfe
Roland De Wolfe had only a few days of rest after the Aussie Millions before it was time for a new battle, this time in Germany. After five hours on Day 1b, he got all his money into the pot on a {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board, holding {A-Spades}{K-Spades}. One opponent called with {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a flush draw, which would be enough, since the {A-Hearts} fell on the river.

ElkY Donates Some to Luske

The second half of the field is now on dinner break and the two PokerStars players, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Marcel Luske, are still sitting next to each other on table 14.

“I was up to 40,000, but had to help my friend Luske a little since he was so short-stacked. I am still on 31,000, but now I have to watch out since Marcel is closing on with 20,000 in his stack,” says the Frenchman with a big smile.

Negreanu is a Great Entertainer

In his usual fashion, PokerStar Pro Daniel Negreanu keeps talking to all his opponents on table 2. After losing almost half of his stack in the beginning, he is now in better shape with 18,000 in front of him. He has also changed his language into some odd mixture of English and German, and all his bets are announced as “Tausend” and “Hundert.” The spectators seems to enjoy it as much as Negreanu himself does. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Canadian with a pretty big stack at the end of the night.

New Poker Team on a Roll

Andreas Torbergsen
Andreas Torbergsen
T6 Poker pro Andreas Torbergsen has had a good day so far and won a nice-sized pot a couple of minutes ago, when his 5,000 bet on river convinced his opponent to fold.

Torbergsen is now up to 28,000 and is the strongest pro so far from T6 Poker. Fellow team member Rolf Slotboom has, as always, been active at his table and is now at 17,000. “I lost quite a big pot before the dinner break, but I am happy with the chips I have,” said Rolf before going back to his seat.

A third pro from their team, Swede Anders Henriksson, was up to 18,000, but lost 6,000 to a bluff just recently and is now down to 13,000.
