"Are You Steaming?"

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Noah Schwartz - Steaming?
Noah Schwartz - Steaming?

Freddy Deeb raised to 15,000 from under the gun plus one, only to have Noah Schwartz three-bet to 41,000 on his direct left. The action folded back to Deeb, winner of the 2007 $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship, who called.

The dealer fanned {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Deeb quickly checked, and Schwartz continued for 34,000. Deeb sat quietly, riffling chips with both hands, then called.

The turn was the {k-Clubs}, Deeb checked again, and Schwartz began assembling chips. Schwartz grabbed a yellow T25,000 chip, added a few blue T5,000 chips, and a few red T1,000 chips, firing 58,000. Deeb called.

The {q-Spades} completed the board, and Deeb checked once more.

"All in," Schwartz said so quietly that nobody even knew that he acted before the red all-in triangle plopped down in front of him.

"All in he said?" Deeb asked the dealer, who nodded. "Can I have a count?"

Schwartz clearly had Deeb covered, but nonetheless the dealer counted down his 266,000-chip stack. Deeb, who was sitting with 208,000, started questioning Schwartz?

"Steaming?" he asked. "Are you steaming? Do you have a big hand? I think that you're steaming."

Schwartz remained silent. Still.

"I don't have much," Deeb said, flashing the {9-Diamonds} before folding. "But I wanted to call you."

Deeb then said he had either pocket nines or ace-nine.

Schwartz raked in the pot, chipping up to 535,000 chips, while Deeb dropped to 208,000.
