Day 2 Started

Welcome to Day 2 of Hollywood Poker Open Tunica Regional Main Event

HPO Tunica
HPO Tunica

With Day 1 in the books at Hollywood Poker Open Tunica Regional Main Event, just six players remain. They'll be convening shortly for Day 2 here in the Southern comfort of Mississippi, just 45 minutes from Memphis.

When action begins at noon local time, Donald McArthur will be the man to catch, as he bagged 370,000 after 14 levels of Day 1 play. Trailing him will be Mark Kehrees (191,000), Scott Mauer (175,000), James McCauley (123,500), Nancy Regan (31,000), and Chris Trotter (9,500). One of the players will be walking away empty-handed, as the tournament is currently on the money bubble. We hope to see Trotter make a triumphant and healthy return to at least go down with a fight after leaving ill and blinding off for the final four hours of Day 1.

Blinds will be 1,500/3,000/500 when the tournament resumes, with 60-minute levels allowing plenty of play. We'll be on hand to see what goes down here in Tunica, so stay tuned to see who the next HPO champion will be.

Scott Mauer opened for 6,000, and Nancy Regan put in her last 10,000. James McCauley called in the big blind, as did Mauer. The two players checked down the {5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades} run out, and Regan showed {q-}{j-}. Both McCauley's {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Mauer's {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} had that beat, with the pot going to Mauer.

Donald McArthur completed the blind, and James McCauley made it 23,000. McArthur called, and the two saw {3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop. McArthur check-called 15,000, and both checked the {9-Spades}. McArthur bet 26,000 on the {6-Clubs} river, and McCauley shook his head and flicked the dealer his cards.
