Bogert Opening A Lot

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Cory Bogert is opening most hands and getting only a little bit of resistance so far. On the last hand, Lloyd Ney three-bet him and he folded, but for the most part he is picking up small pots here and there.

Don Baumer - 5th Place

Don Baumer had been among the bigger stacks for most of the day. He just lost a massive pot to Cory Bogert and then was eliminated on the very next hand. In the middle of all that, Jeremy Scharf picked up aces and almost tripled up.

On the first hand, the board read {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Bogert checked to Baumer. He bet 250,000 and Bogert called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Bogert open shoved for about 900,000 more. Baumer called and turned over queens. Bogert showed two pair with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The river was the {5-Clubs} and Baumer was left with scraps.

On the next hand, Baumer went all in under the gun for 150,000 and Scharf called. Bogert shoved to put Scharf all in and Scharf snap called.

Scharf had aces against the {a-Spades}{6-Spades} of Bogert and the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} of Baumer. Scharf would win the hand and almost triple up.

Bruce Mead was eliminated in 4th Place by Jeremy Scharf.

Scharf raised to 90,000 on the button and Mead shoved all in for his last 475,000. Scharf called with {9-}{9-} against the {a-}{6-} of Mead.

The board gave Mead a pair of sixes, but nothing more and he hit the rail. Scharf now has almost 2-million chips. Just a level ago, he had only ten big blinds.
