Williams Starting to Build a Tower

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

There was heads up action after a {4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop. Steve Williams checked his option from under the gun to his opponent in middle position who jammed for 38,600 into a 7,000 pot. Williams asked for a count and after getting the confirmed amount, called.

Steve Williams: {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Opponent: {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

Williams held top pair while his opponent had a gut-shot straight draw.

The {8-Diamonds} turn improved Willimas but changed nothing for his opponent as he still needed a six to win.

Williams would boat up with the {8-Hearts} river to send his opponent packing and catapult him close to the 200,000 mark.
