Despite the small sizing, it was more than McVeigh wished to commit and he sent his cards to the muck as a result.
John Small opened to 200,000 on the button and was three-bet to 500,000 by Tan Hoang out of the small blind. Action folded back to Small and he let his cards go.

The turn came and Hoang led again, betting another 600,000. McVeigh thought for a bit and then shoved all in. Meglich folded after about five seconds to put action back on Hoang, who went into the tank. Eventually, he asked for a count which was totaled to be 2.6 million and then he announced a call.

Meglich was just as surprised: "I had aces!" he said, proud of his ability to get away from the hand.

The two were both hoping to either win or chop, looking for anything but their opponent's suits to come for the flush sweat. The runout provided no such sweat, coming to result in the likely outcome of a chopped pot.
