Paladino Sets Up Big Slick

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Mike O'Neill bet 5,500 from the big blind into a pot of 10,000 on a {j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} board and was called by the cutoff, as well as Mike Paladino on the button.

Action checked to Paladino on the {k-Clubs} river, and he flicked in 5,000, about half of his remaining stack. O'Neill folded, but the cutoff called, tabling {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for rivered kings and fives. Paladino had that crushed with his {3-}{3-} for a full house, and won the pot.

"I had the third best hand," O'Neill deadpanned with a wry grin.

Two Utleys at Table 40!

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Crystal and John Utley
Crystal and John Utley

It's rare to see a husband and wife duo on the felt together in the poker world, but it's even rarer to see a husband and wife duo seated side by side late in the day at a tournament.

Table 40, which already boasts Maurice Hawkins, Tim Vance, and Jimmy Bussey amongst its patrons, held John Utley for a short time, and lo and behold, his wife Crystal found her table breaking and her seat directly to the right of John.

The Morganfield, Kentucky residents boast six-figure Hendon Mob earnings (John holds a slim lead with $174,608 to Crystal's $144,674), but the duo will be looking to nearly double their respective totals with a win here this weekend.

The Dirtiest of the Dirty

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

A player checked a {k-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts} board from early position, and John Marshall bet 10,000 into a pot of around 15,000 from the cutoff. The early-position player check-raised to 20,000, then called off his 100,000 chip stack when Marshall three-bet jammed.

Opponent: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
John Marshall: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Marshall's set had been turned by the early-position player's bigger set, but as alluded to by the title of this post, the {4-Clubs} was waiting on the river to deliver Marshall quads and a pure one-outer for a sick bustout.

"Go ahead, write down how I got hosed!" the early-position player said good-naturedly. Marshall and his eliminated opponent shook hands, while a player at the table shook his head and said, "Don't get any dirtier than that!"

Keeling Versus Moscati

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Robert Keeling raised to 5,000 from the hijack, and Vincent Moscati called in the big blind.

Moscati checked the {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop to Keeling, who bet 3,800. Moscati called.

The {5-Clubs} turn and {10-Diamonds} river were checked through, and Moscati tabled {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Keeling flipped over {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and took down the pot.

Weber Busts One

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With 20,000 in the pot, the small blind jammed for 25,800 on a {3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, and Neil Patel called from under-the-gun. Troy Weber called next to act, and Carl Masters folded in the cutoff.

Patel checked the {9-Diamonds} turn to Weber, who bet 30,000. Patel folded.

Opponent: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Troy Weber: {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Weber's two pair faded the flush draw on the {8-Clubs} river to eliminate his opponent.

Marshall Continues to Climb

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

John Marshall raised to 10,000 preflop from early position, and Chris Cornell three-bet to 30,000 on the button. Marshall four-bet shoved for 60,000 effective and Cornell quickly called.

John Marshall: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Chris Cornell: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Cornell found a queen on the {j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop, but Marshall was still live with a Broadway draw or a king for the knockout. The {3-Spades} turn was a brick, but Marshall would not be denied on the {k-Clubs} river, and he added another knockout to his belt.
