Spinks Chases Wembley Dream

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Jon Spinks fired a bet of 5,200 on the turn of a {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board against Yucel Eminoglu, the latter called to see a {6-Clubs} on the river. Spinks bet 13,300 and Eminoglu instantly folded.

Spinks has about 50,000 at the moment, he should've had more but misclick/bluffed about 15,000 when he thought his opponent had only bet 1/5th of pot instead of an amount five time that size.

Theodore Shoves on Cadenel

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

First to act, Francisco da Costa Santos open-limped for 300. To his immediate left was Sebastian Cadenel who raised to 2,300. A couple of folds later and it was the turn of Paul Theodore to act on the button. He removed the pink package of chewing gum from the top of his cards and then called. Jamie Burland called from the big blind and when da Costs Santos folded, the dealer got busy spreading the flop.

Flop: {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{K-Spades} - Burland tapped the table and checked, Cadenel fired a 3,500 bet into the middle and Theodore raised to 10,550. Burland let out a sigh as he sent his cards back to the dealer, and Cadenel called.

Turn: {10-Diamonds} - Cadenel instantly checked and then instantly called as Theodore put out a 5,500 bet.

River: {3-Hearts} - More instant checked by Cadenel was met with an all-in bet of 17,000 from Theodore. Cadenel, who looked like a man who knew he should have folded on the flop, released his hand.

Trickett Takes a Hit

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Sitting in the small blind, and with blinds at 150 / 300 with a 25 ante, Sam Trickett called a raise and a call from two players.

All three players checked the flop of {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {8-Hearts}

A {2-Hearts} hit the turn and Trickett lead out for 3,000 only to face two stubborn callers.

When the {8-Clubs} came on the river, Trickett decided to see just how stubborn his opponents really wanted to be and fired out a bet of 11k.

Seat 2 liked his cards enough to call but Seat 3 liked his even more, raising the bet to 28,000.

Trickett gave it some thought but folded pretty quickly. Seat 2 thought for a while before he too surrendered his cards.

The dent to his stack leaves Trickett with just over 30,000

When asked about the strength of his hand he replied, “Well, I folded two cards.”

Dale Destroys McLellan

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Matt Dale may be Mr APAT, but his play is anything but amateur. Dale has just stacked Duncan McLellan.

The chips went into the middle of the felt on a {2-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, Dale holding the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and McLellan the far inferior and dominated {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. The {A-Hearts} turn locked up the hand for Dale and McLellan had already left his seat by the time the {Q-Diamonds} landed on the river.

Nick Wright Finds Aces; Climbs to 60,000

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante
Nick Wright
Nick Wright

Nick Wright can usually be found reporting on the UKIPT and other major live events. Today he is playing in one and we are having to report on him. Wright seems to be more than holding his own right now and is armed with 60,000 chips.

On a {8-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} board, Wright fired a 1,225 bet from the blind and Oliver Prior, in late position, decided to call. The {7-Spades} on the river did not slow Wright down and he bet two yellow chips worth a combined 2,000. Prior called, but he really shouldn't have as Wright held {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. Nice hand, sir.

Freddy Deeb is a regularly visitor to London and he's running well here so far. Deeb bet 16,000 on the river of a {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} board against Ross Murphy and the latter paid him off. Deeb showed {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a rivered set and became one of the fabled stack that are already over the 100,000 mark.

Richard Caught

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

The board was reading {6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Dean Lyall had bet 3,000 on the end before Otto Richard made it a chunky 14,000 behind him. Lyall didn't like this and was debating the call for several minutes before eventually opting to flick in the extra 11,000. The Frenchman flipped over a bluffy {K-Spades}{3-Spades} and Lyall picked up the pot with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Richard is down to about 12,000 while Lyall has roughly 70,000.

Frankland Firing

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Young British Pro Matt Frankland is keeping active at the table today.

With blinds at 200 / 400 with an ante of 50, Frankland opened from the hi-jack for 1,200 and was called by the button and the big blind.

The flop brought {4-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {A-Hearts} The big blind checked and Frankland continued with a bet of 2,700. The button called but the big blind decided to get out of the way.

Turn was the {10-Diamonds} Frankland checked and so did his opponent.

River the {J-Spades} Check / check again and they show their cards with Frankland's {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} not good enough against the {A-Spades}{3-Hearts} of the button.

Just a small dent to his stack of over 100,000 but it prompted Frankland to offer his insight into the hand, “Might have had a chance there with three bullets.”

His opponent nodded his agreement, but there was no time for more introspection from Frankland as he opened again for 1,200 and took down the pot uncontested.

Plenty more bullets in this gun.
