Hirvonen Doubles Off Wedde

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

With about 20,000 in the pot and the board reading {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts} Gunnar Wedde jammed all-in effectively covering the 18,000 remaining in the stack of Mikko Ilari Hirvonen.

Hirvonen snap-called and turned over {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a full house. Wedde attempted to muck his hand knowing he was drawing dead before the dealer turned over {9-Spades}{7-Spades}. The double-up became official after the dealer dealt the inconsequential river card.

Tony Andre Westby opened to 1,600. Henri Kasper, who began the hand with around 30,000 in chips, three-bet to 5,000 before he called a jam of 27,000 from Westby.

It was off to the races with Westby turning over {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Kasper showing {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

Kasper's slight edge in the hand got even bigger after the {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} appeared on the flop. The {j-Spades} came on the turn opening up a gutshot straight draw for Westby.

However, Kasper held strong after the {7-Spades} completed the board on the river.
