New Record Already!

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

The last Kings of Tallinn Main Event in 2019 set a festival record with 375 entrants joining in on the action.

The Main Event this year has already attracted 382 entrants to set a new record.

Day 1a isn't even halfway over and there is still a Day 1b turbo flight tonight. In addition, players can late register and re-enter up until the conclusion of the first blind level during tomorrow's Day 2.

The next milestone for the festival to now pass is when they will break the €500,000 guarantee. This once seemed like a lofty expectation with the guarantee set at around 50 percent higher than the highest prize pool in the festival's history.

Now it doesn't seem like a matter of if the guarantee will be broken but when.

Wulff Wolfs a Pot

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Mikael Wulff opened to 700 from early position. Taisto Janter called from the button before Gytis Lazauninkas raised to 3,100 from the small blind. Wulff called and Janter folded.

Lazauninkas checked after the {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs} came on the flop. Wulff asked his opponent to move his hands so he could see his stack, which was around 6,500.

Wulff then jammed for a bit more than this and won the hand after his opponent folded.

Straight for Kann

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Janne Siljamaki checked with about 15,000 in the pot and the {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades} on the board. Koit Kann bet 9,000 and Siljamaki called.

"Straight," said Kann as he turned over {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

Siljamaki didn't also have the nuts of a broadway straight and the dealer awarded Kann the pot after Siljamaki mucked his hand.

Velvelt Picks off a Bluff

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante
Urmo Velvelt
Urmo Velvelt

Urmo Velvelt checked with 20,000 in the pot and the {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} on the board.

Audrius Navickas jammed for about 14,000. Velvelt tanked for about a minute before he made the call.

Navickas tried to throw his hand into the muck but as it was an all-in situation he had to show. He turned over {k-Spades}{3-Spades} for a missed flush draw and Velvelt won the pot with an overpair after he turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Queens Good Against Jacks

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

A player opened before Denis Pisarev three-bet to 3,500 from the button. Jari Saviaho four-bet to 8,500 from the small blind and Pisarev called.

The action paused on Saviaho for a minute after the {2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs} came on the flop. He eventually fired out for 16,500 and Pisarev quickly jammed for 29,000. Saviaho just as quickly made the call and players turned over their cards.

Denis Pisarev: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Jari Saviaho: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Saviaho was well behind and one of his friends called for a jack to save him. No jack was to come with the {2-Diamonds} appearing on the turn followed by the {8-Spades} on the river and Saviaho was left short on chips after the hand.

Salminen Chips Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Kaspars Butans opened from the hijack to 1,000 and got a call from Vidmantas Strumskis in the cutoff.

Juha Salminen three-bet to 4,000 from the button. Butans folded and Strumskis called.

Strumskis check-called a bet of 3,000 after the {6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} came on the flop and both players checked after the {8-Clubs} came on the turn.

The {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Strumskis bet 4,500 and got a snap-call from his opponent.

Strumskis turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Salminen won the hand after he turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for top pair.
