Day 1 Started

Welcome to Uruguay!

Welcome to PokerNews' coverage of the LAPT Punta del Este Main Event, brought to you by PokerStars.net. Throughout the LAPT's 3+ year history, there has been one constant on the schedule.

The luxurious Mantra Resort in Punta del Este, Uruguay is once again host to the LAPT. In February 2010, Team PokerStars Pro Jose “Nacho” Barbero captured the Season 3 title here, his first of back-to-back LAPT victories. Barbero is here to defend his title and he'll have his work cut out for him as a familiar and talented bunch will be looking to capture their share of LAPT glory.

Among those we've spotted so far include Team PokerStars Pros Christian de León, Angel Guillén, and Greg DeBora. We expect to see many more as the clock approaches noon, so be sure to keep it here at PokerNews throughout the day for all of the exciting action as it takes place.

See you at the top of the hour!

Uribe Gives One Up

After an early-position player raised to 350, Mayu Roca Uribe made it 900 to go from the small blind. His opponent called and an {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop followed.

A check from both led to the {9-Hearts} on the turn. Uribe bet 1,325, but his opponent quickly popped it to 3,900. Uribe folded, slipping to just below the starting stack.
