The Final Sixteen Start at Noon Local Time

Jasper 'Oemtoeoemtoe' van der Veen
Jasper 'Oemtoeoemtoe' van der Veen

The field of 889 has been reduced to just 16 players and Kyle McCague is on top of the leaderboard as the only player with more than three million chips. A lot of the eyes from the community will be focused on Jasper 'Oemtoeoemtoe' van der Veen as the last remaining hope from the community. Van der Veen was the chip leader in the tournament at one point but he ended up bagging nearly half of what he had in front of him on the bubble. Van der Veen will start the day with 615,000 which is about 12 big blinds.

Carl Von Dobeln (2,750,000), Thomas Lewis (2,460,000), Cristian-Gicu Stanciu (2,850,000), Halil Gecaj (2,180,000), and Claudiu Florin (2,145,000) are all below McCague on the leaderboard, but they all have over two million in chips and have great position to win the first place prize of £31,257. All are already guaranteed £1,600. The ones that are also still fighting for first are Velentin Ehmlin (1,650,000), Steve Berto (1,600,000), Stephen O'Keeffe (1,435,000), and Jason Glampson (1,190,000).

The ones with less than a million and a little more work to do today are Atanas Pavlov (970,000), Robert Hutchinson (820,000), Omar Al Kaisy (595,000), and Xiaohe Tan (60,000). Tan will start the day with little over one big blind and the draw for the button will be very important for her.

The tournament restart in level 25 with blinds at 25,000/50,000 and a 50,000 big blind ante and the levels are 40-minutes just like on Day 2. The tournament will be live-streamed on Lex Veldhuis's Twitch channel, but you can also find it at the top of this page. The updates by PokerNews will be delayed as well so there will be no spoilers.

Make sure to keep an eye on PokerNews for the latest updates as they play down to a winner.

Omar Al Kaisy
Omar Al Kaisy

Omar Al Kaisy got his last 530,000 in the middle from the button with {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and he was called by big blind Thomas Lewis with {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Al Kaisy was eliminated from the tournament.

'KingKayz' was eliminated for £1,867 but it wasn't about the money for him.

''I wouldn't have cared as much about busting early or busting now. Of course it is nice to win, but being part of this community is priceless. Getting to meet all these new friends has been so worth it to make the trip. I qualified online for $11 as well, so this is just all extra nice.''

Steve Berto
Steve Berto

Thomas Lewis raised from middle position and Steve Berto put his last 12 big blinds in the middle from the cutoff. Atanas Pavlov jammed as well for 13 big blinds and Lewis thought about it for a moment. He eventually let go of his hand.

Atanas Pavlov: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Steve Berto: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} didn't give Berto any direct outs, but the {10-Hearts} did. The river, however, was the {5-Clubs} and Berto was eliminated from the tournament in 9th place. He cashed for £3,112.

Thomas Lewis sat in the hijack with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} when it folded to him and he raised all in for 1,500,000. The cutoff and the button got out of the way. Small blind Gareth Smith woke up with {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and he rejammed. The big blind folded and they opened up.

The {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} runout couldn't save Lewis and he was eliminated from the tournament in eighth place, cashing for £4,143.

Atanas Pavlov raised with {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} from the cutoff to 240,000. He was three-bet by Stephen O'Keeffe to 625,000 with {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Pavlov called when it folded to him.

The flop fell {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Pavlov checked to O'Keeffe who then continued with a bet of 575,000. Pavlov jammed all in for effectively 2,800,000, covering O'Keeffe. He was called and they opened up.

O'Keeffe needed a club but the turn was the {7-Spades} and the river the {4-Spades} and Pavlov took the chip lead pot down while O'Keeffe was eliminated in 7th for £5,210.

Carl von Dobeln

Carl Von Dobeln sat on the button and he jammed his last 1,200,000 to the middle with {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. He was called by small blind Gareth Smith who had {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and they opened up after the big blind folded.

The {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} gave extra outs to Smith, but the {k-Hearts} did the job on the turn. No ace on the {2-Hearts} river and Von Dobeln was eliminated in fifth place, taking £7,788 back to Sweden.

Gareth Smith Eliminated in 4th Place (£10,419)

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Gareth Smith
Gareth Smith

Gareth Smith was eliminated in fourth place after he lost a blind versus blind confrontation. He had the better preflop hand with {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} against the {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} of small blind Kyle McCague. Smith limp called a jam.

The {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop gave both players something, but the {9-Clubs} turn ended it all for Smith. The river was the {10-Hearts} and it was all over.

Smith took home the fourth-place prize worth £10,419 and he is the first player to take home a five-figure prize from Lex Live 2.

There will be a small break for the players to look at the numbers.

Atanas Pavlov
Atanas Pavlov

Atanas Pavlov sat on the button as he was dealt {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and he used a time bank card to count his stack and eventually put it in the middle. His stack was worth 3,600,000 and he was called by big blind Kyle McCague.

The board ran out {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and that was all she wrote for Pavlov. He did make a deal three-handed and takes home £20,115 for his third-place finish.

McCage has a commanding chip lead going into the heads-up battle. There is another £6,715 on the line.

They will go on a short break before they battle it out.
