The Ultimate Monster is underway, having kicked off at 11 a.m. local time.
It promises to be one of the most exciting events of the series as a starting stack is a gargantuan 100,000 in chips. Each buy in is $400 and players are able to rebuy or register for about another hour, through the break after Level 8.
There have been 78 players entries thus far, with 58 players remaining.
Derek Normand took down Event #10: NLH Black Chip Bounty after erasing a massive chip deficit heads up and eventually overcoming Charlie Nguyen on Thursday night to win $3,885.
He overcame 39 entries in a field that produced a prizepool of $15,000

In the Lone Star Poker Series, players are vying for not only cash prizes but also for specially made belt buckles that go to the wnner of certain events.
David O'Brien took one home last night as he valued the prize very highly as a commemoration of his win.
The belt buckles are made with real sterling silver by Max Lang Belts & Buckles right here in Houston and have been valued at as high as $3,000.
