We got there on the flop as Doug Roberts had bet 1,000 from the big blind with a board of in front of him. Bartel Kars, seated in early position, called. Ron Spronk in late position squeezed to 3,025 and both Roberts and Kars called.
Roberts and Kars checked on the turn and Spronk bet 5,025. Roberts called, Kars called.
The completed the board and again Roberts and Kars checked. Spronk shoved all in for a ton of chips, though we're unsure how much it was exactly as Roberts instantly called and Kars instantly open folded his , so the dealer never needed to do a count.
Roberts showed , the "big blind special" as he called it, and Spronk mucked .
Dennis Bijen was nowhere to be seen and we asked Wim Anne Wesselink if he knew what had happened. Wouldn't you know it, Wesselink was the one responsible for Bijen's departure.
Wesselink opened the cutoff for 700 in 150/300 and big blind Bijen 3-bet to 2,400 out of a 12,000 stack. Wesselink tanked for about a minute before announcing all in. Bijen snap-called.
Wim Anne Wesselink:
Dennis Bijen:
Unfortunately for Bijen, the board ran out and Wesselink could start stacking chips.
Freerk Post opened for 900 and the hijack, cutoff (Maik de Rijk), and button all called. Big blind Dietrich Fast squeezed to 5,700 (with an unknown amount of chips behind) and Post and the hijack folded. De Rijk shoved, the button folded, Fast called.
Dietrich Fast:
Maik de Rijk:
The board ran out an uneventful and Fast hit the rail.
As we arrived, the turn was already out in a pot between Freerk Post (cutoff) and his neighbor (button). Post shoved all in for 4,375 on and the button snap-called.
Freerk Post:
Button:
Post was down to just 2 outs but that proved no big hurdle as the on the river was exactly one of the cards he was looking for. Double up for Post, the button could only sigh.
Rembert Net walked up to the media desk and showed us a photo of his bust out hand. Net, not particularly known for complaining about bad beats or taking photos of his bust out hands, just smiled and explained what had happened.
Net opened under the gun plus 2 for 1,000 and saw the cutoff 3-bet to 3,000. Net called when the action folded to him.
Net check-called a bet of 3,000 on the flop and check-called another 6,000 on the turn.
The river came the and Net checked for the third time. His opponent bet 12,000 and Net shoved for about 16,000. His opponent called rather quickly.
Net showed for quads but that hand proved no winner as his opponent tabled for the bigger quads. Net busted, on to the next one for him.
Joris Ruys had a sizable bounty on his head, now belonging to his neighbor. D. Victor opened the button and Ruys 3-bet the small blind. Victor on the button called and saw Ruys check to him on . Victor bet 5,000 and called Ruys' shove for 15,000 total.
Ruys had while Victor tabled . The turn and river were both blanks and Victor raked in the chips while Ruys hit the rail. Victor is now worth €1,430.
