Bader Busts One

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

It's that stage of the tournament, where the blinds are expensive for the players who are still on starting stack. Over on Table 1, Daniel Bader opened to 10,000 in the small blind and the player in the big blind three-bet all in for 31,500. Bader liked the price and called.

Daniel Bader: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Bader was the marginal underdog as they headed to the flop. It came {7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, making a pair for both players but Bader moved into the lead with the higher one. The {q-Clubs} turn changed nothing and the {3-Diamonds} river was a brick too, netting Bader a decent sum that takes him above average stack now.

Heads Up for a Triple Up

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

What a time to find aces. With only 32,000 (8 big blinds), Duncan Mackie got his chips in preflop; and after one player had called, a second opponent re-raised all in to squeeze the first player out of the hand. Playing heads up for a triple up, Mackie turned over pocket {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and was a 5:1 favorite against his opponents' {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

Mackie had made a full house by the time the {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{a-Clubs} completed board was down. He is in much better shape now with 25 big blinds in front.

Kassa Extends Lead

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Things are going from strength to strength for Getnet Kassa. He has just eliminated another player and is over the half-milly mark now.

Parviz Siabi was the unfortunate casualty, making a move all in for 77,500 on the button with {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} and losing a flip against Kassa's {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} on a {6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board.

That takes the field down to the final 36 players, with Kassa's table breaking as a result of that hand.

Priestly Doubles Through Robertson

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

With less than 20 minutes to go until the end of the day, the chips continue to go all in and Sinead Priestly and Dean Robertson were the most recent players to do so.

Robertson opened the hijack to 11,000 and Priestly shipped 64,000 for her all in. Robertson called and was behind, but only slightly, with two live cards in play.

The flop fell {q-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, giving Priestly top and bottom pair and Robertson middle pair and a gutshot for Broadway. The turn was the {4-Spades} and the river the {k-Clubs}. Robertson's two pair wasn't good enough to win the pot and he is down to just ten big blinds now.

Big Double for Zhu

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

In the closing stages of the night, Xuequn Zhu has found a huge double up that cements her place up near the top of the counts with one more hand to go before play concludes. The chips came via a full house with Zhu holding {k-Spades}{q-Spades} on a {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} board.

Kassa's Campaign Unravels in Shock End to the Night

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

It has been an incredible end to the night, with Getnet Kassa's hopes of holding the chip lead when players bag and tag dramatically destroyed in the last hand.

Kassa had suffered a few blows in the preceding hands, but none hurt as much as the one that just played out against Vitali Pasci.

Action was on the turn with {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} down and Pasci check-raised Kassa's 20,000 bet to 40,000. Kassa used a time bank card and flat called.

The river came a {2-Spades} and Pasci used another time bank card before checking. Kassa moved all in at this point and it was snap-called by Pasci with a huge cooler revealed when players turned over their cards.

Vitali Pasci: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Getnet Kassa: {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

It was full house vs a better one and Pasci takes the chip lead at the last. Kassa was left reeling, unable to believe what has just happened.
