Hao Su Tops 26 Day 1a Survivors In HK$100K OPC 2018 High Roller

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Hao Su leads the pack
Hao Su leads the pack

It was a slightly shorter day than expected on Day 1a of the Oriental Poker Championship (OPC) HK$100K High Roller, but it didn’t prevent seeing plenty of action in the Venetian Macau Resort & Hotel poker room.

A total of 31 entries throughout today’s seven 40-minute levels (nine levels were scheduled, but the decision was made to shave off two late in the day). The player leading the way after an abrupt end to the day is China's Hao Su, who surged up the chip counts just before the dinner break. When players returned Su continued to increase his stack thanks to some manic last-minute action, ultimately bagging up 157,200 to top the 26 Day 1A survivors.

Su is most closely followed by Chung Yuan Yu (115,000), Dmitry Rabotkin (113,000), and Ivan Leow (107,500). Tony Yat Wai Cheng was the only player to re-enter today, while everyone who busted can still re-enter with registration open until the start of Level 13 tomorrow. That message mainly goes out to Fabian Spielmann, who exited around the midway point and didn’t return, and Yue Feng Pan, Devan Tang, and Yia Qing Ji - the other players to bust and not fire a second bullet.

James Chen
We'll be seeing James Chen tomorrow

There are plenty of familiar faces who will definitely return to action tomorrow at 2pm though. The likes of High Roller James Chen (70,800), Matthew Moss (44,300), Albert Paik (78,800), and Thailand’s all-time money winner Phanlert Sukonthachartnant (48,300) all made it through.
