From October 2-4, the newly-formed Midway Poker Tour will host its inaugural event in the Chicagoland area. The tournament, which will be live reported here on PokerNews, will take place at the Sheraton Suites Chicago Elk Grove in conjunction with the 4 K.I.D.S. Sake charity.
The $1,100 buy-in, $100K GTD Main Event features 30-minute levels on Day 1 and 40-minute levels on Day 2. Players will start with 30,000 in chips, and re-entries and best-stack forward will be in effect.
Day 1a will take place today at 2 p.m. local time, while Day 1b will be at Noon on Saturday, October 3. The surviving players from both flights will then return at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 4 to play down to a winner. Players must be 18+ years of age to participate.
Not only will the action be reported by PokerNews, there will also be a live stream from the event. On Wednesday and Thursday leading up to the tournament, there were juicy cash games offered on the stream, while today and Saturday will offer a Main Event feature table broadcast. As the end of Level 1 approached, a player in the hijack opened to 400 and was called by Bryan Skreens in the cutoff as well as the big blind player.
After a flop of , it was checked to the hijack who made a continuation bet of 900. Skreens made the call and the player in the big blind gave up his hand.
The turn brought the . The hijack player again bet, this time 1,300, which was called by Skreens.
The on the river completed the board. After his opponent bet 2,900, Skreens raised to 6,500, causing his opponent to fold and allowing Skreens to build his stack.

In a leftover hand from Level 1, a player opened to 300 from early position and another player called. Minnesota's Jason "Bigboyyyyy" Yeung then three-bet to 700 from the cutoff and the other two players called to see a flop.
Two checks saw Yeung continue for 1,700 and the original raiser check-raised to 6,000. The other player folded, Yeung called, and the appeared on the turn. The original raiser bet 10,000, Yeung called, and the completed the board on the river.
The original raiser slowed down with a check and then folded when Yeung jammed all in.
