Welcome to one of the first events which the PokerNews live reporting team will be covering in 2020 here at PokerStars LIVE Manila. At 5 p.m. local time, the cards should go in the air for one of the first marquee events of the festival, the ₱500,000 Super High Roller at the inaugural Red Dragon Manila which will take place in the beautiful Coral Lounge in the stunning Okada Manila.
Bin Sun won the ₩10,000,000 Super High Roller in Jeju (₩220,295,000) which equaled around US$189,450 at the time. Day 1 in Jeju attracted 75 entries and another 16 entered on Day 2 due to the unlimited re-entry format. The tournament in Manila also offers players the chance to reenter an unlimited amount of times for the ₱500,000 (~US$9,858) buy-in but late reg is only possible until the end of Level 10 with 12 levels on the schedule for Day 1.
Each level lasts 40 minutes and a shot clock will be in play from the start. Players will receive 250,000 in chips in their start stack with 4 time bank cards worth 30 seconds each. Another two will be handed out at the start of Day 2 with two more given to the players who reach the final table.
A 15-minute break has been scheduled after every three levels in this two-day event with Day 2 scheduled to start at 1 p.m. local time on Sunday, January 5.
In Jeju the Super High Roller was scheduled for the end of the festival while here in Manila it's one of the first, who knows how many players will show up for the first-ever Red Dragon Manila Super High Roller. But the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to bring you all the action from hot and humid Manila!
As usual in the high roller tournament scene, the start of the tournament has been slightly delayed to allow more players to enter the tournament.

In what looked like a raised and three-bet pot, the flop read . Weihao Ma bet 25,000 from the big blind and was called by Kirk Steele on the button.
The turn brought them the and Ma continued with a bet of 50,000 which Steele called quite quickly.
The river completed the board with the and Ma fired another bet over the line, this time for 55,000. Steele made the call. Ma hesitated for a bit, seemingly confused if it was a call or raise. The dealer and Daniel William indicated that it was a call and that Ma could turn over his cards. Ma nodded and gingerly turned over for the overpair of aces and that was more than enough to get Steele to muck his hand.

Kirk Steele completed his small blind and Lei Yu opted to check in the big blind. The flop came , Steele bet 2,000 and Yu called. They both checked through the on the turn and the on the river for Steele to claim the pot with for the pair of queens.
A few hands later, Yu raised to 2,500 from under the gun and Steele defended his big blind. The flop came , Steele check-raised the 2,000 continuation-bet of Yu to 7,000. Yu took a few seconds and then opted to let this hand go.
