Once again, the International Poker Open hosted by PokerStars returns to Dublin, Ireland, bringing its popular poker series to the Bonnington Dublin Hotel from October 22-28. Today marks the start of the €350 buy-in IPO Main Event, featuring a guaranteed prize pool of €250,000, where competitors from near and far will gather to take their shot at poker glory.
In 2023, Belgium's Steven Rothheut topped a field of 794 entrants to win the €45,240 first-place prize, marking his career-best tournament score. Rothheut defeated Ireland’s Barry Moore heads-up, while Daniel O'Herlihy rounded out the podium places in third.

Day 1a of the Main Event kicks off at 2 p.m., marking the first of six starting flights. Players will start with a stack of 30,000, and each level will last 40 minutes. The plan is to play through fifteen levels, with late registration open until the end of level 9. Players can reenter once per flight if needed.
Blinds will start at 100/100 with no big blind ante, with every subsequent level then including a big blind ante.
Once play has concluded for flight 1a, the surviving players from today will join those who make it through the next five flights for Day 2, scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 27.

Aghasi check-called a bet of 300 from Croitoru on the Q♣7♥5♦ flop.
The 6♥ turn and 7♦ river got checked down by both players and Aghasi flipped over 9♥5♥ for a pair of fives to take down the pot.

Lampis Bachos raised from the cutoff to 300 and Joe Ward was the only caller out of the small blind.
Both players chose to check the 4♠6♣3♠ flop to see the 7♥ hit the turn, Ward led out for 300 which Bachos quickly called.
The Q♣ river got checked through and Ward took down the pot with 8♣8♥.

Cosmin Croitoru raised to 200 from the cutoff and Kermani Aghasi three-bet to 800 out of the small blind. Croitoru called.
The two players checked a board of K♣J♦5♠A♥J♠ all the way down to the river before Croitoru bet 1,500. Aghasi thought it over for a few seconds before he flicked in the call.
Croitoru tabled A♣8♣ for a pair of aces and Aghasi mucked his cards
