Queens Hold for Barbier

Bobby Barbier got pocket queens all-in against two opponents. He had both players covered and was against {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Barbier won the hand and eliminated both opponents to stack just under 180,000 chips.

Barbier has been running pretty good during these final levels. Earlier he got 40 big blinds in preflop and was behind holding {a-}{q-} against the {a-}{k-} of his opponent.

He flopped a queen and stayed ahead to double up and remain in the tournament. Now he is among the chip leaders with the final moments of Day 1B approaching.

Jeff Wyatt All In Dark

Jeff Wyatt wanted to make moves late in this flight since he already bagged yesterday. He hasn't been able to gain any ground and went all-dark for his last 22,800 when he shoved on Marshall Bailey.

Bailey called with {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and was against the {j-Spades}{10-Clubs} that Wyatt revealed after he got called.

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Wyatt was eliminated. Bailey stacked just over 100,000.

Last Level

The last level of the flight is underway with 48 players remaining. Only one player in this flight has crossed the 200k mark: Richard Couron with 238,000. But with a dozen players holding 100k or more, Gerald Kelley's position atop the leaderboard with 279,500 can still be beat. We'll bring you another batch of updated chip counts shortly.

Wayne Lewis Wins Big Three-Way Pot

Wayne Lewis found himself with the worst hand in a three-way all-in. He was at risk with {10-}{10-} against Schuyler Thornton who had {k-}{k-}. A third player was in the hand holding {a-}{a-}.

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Lewis flopped a set, then turned a full house to basically triple up, having one of his opponents barely covered.

Thornton still had a little more than 30,000 and Lewis shot up to the top of the leaderboard stacking almost 200,000

Shana Browning Basically Doubles Up

Shana Browning shoved all in for 40,000 and got one caller for slightly less, 37,000.

The remaining players folded and Browning showed {q-}{q-} against the {j-}{j-} of her opponent.

The board ran out and neither player improved, so Browning won the hand and sent her opponent to the rail with a pair of queens.

Gauthier Fades Cardenas' Draw

Wes Gauthier
Wes Gauthier

Zozimo Cardenas opened for 3,800 and Wes Gauthier three-bet to 14,000. Cardenas called and the two saw a flop of {7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Cardenas checked. Gauthier continued for 17,000 and Cardenas called.

The turn paired the board with the {7-Spades}. Cardenas checked and Gauthier moved all-in for around 60,000. Cardenas had slightly less (56,000) and went into the tank. After a few minutes, the clock was called, and thirty seconds later, Cardenas called to put himself at risk.

Cardenas - {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Gauthier - {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Gauthier was ahead but Cardenas had a lot of outs to win the pot. None of them arrived when the river brought the {j-Diamonds} and Cardenas has been eliminated from Flight B.

Jeff Wyatt Doubles Through Zozimo Cardenas

Jeff Wyatt is currently being called, "backpack Jeff."

According to the table, every time Wyatt puts on his backpack when he is all in, he wins.

Wyatt says he didn't put it on when he had pocket kings and ended up losing. On this hand, after limping along with five other players, Zizimo Cardenas raised to 7,000 and Wyatt shoved. Cardenas called.

Wyatt's shove was for 10,600. He had {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} against the {a-Clubs}{8-Spades} of Cardenas. Wyatt stood up and put his backpack on, saying that he was ready to go.

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, giving Wyatt a flush. He took off his backpack and sat back down with a double up.

A Consolation Prize for Eliminating Big Robbie

Big Robbie Magee owns Big Robbie's Billiards in town and he is playing the tournament today.

After offering a prize for the high hand yesterday, and a freeroll to play Keith Lehr heads up, Chad Desante is continuing the celebration with a $50 bar tab.

Whoever eliminates Robbie Magee will get a $50 gift certificate to Big Robbie's and bonus prizes the more people the winner brings in with them.

However, Magee is still in the tournament and sitting with 33,000, so the consolation prize will have to wait for now.
