Kempe Falls Short of the Final Table

Level 37 : 1,500,000/3,000,000, 1,500,000 ante

Aymon Hata raised to 7 million on the button and Rainer Kempe announced a raise to 30 million in the small blind, leaving himself with only 6 million behind. Aleksei Istomin used up a time extension in the big blind before re-shoving all in for around 50 million. Hata folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

Kempe showed {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} but was in a world of trouble against the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} of Istomin. The flop of {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} gave Kempe a straight draw and some hope. However, the {6-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Hearts} on the river were no help and he was eliminated eighth place. The final seven players will now redraw for a seat at the unofficial final table.

Jorge Ribeiro Eliminated in 7th Place ($18,000)

Level 39 : 2,000,000/4,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

Jorge Ribeiro called off most of his stack against Dylan Lask on a board of {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades} before folding river. He found one double then got all in for 34,500 with {3-}{3-} against the {q-}{q-} of Alexandr Merzhvinskiy. The board ran out clean for the latter and Ribeiro went bust.

Aleksei Istomin Eliminated in 6th Place ($24,500)

Level 40 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 2,500,000 ante

Aleksei Istomin got his short stack in on the button and was called by big blind Richard Alati, who had {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. It was a great spot for Istomin to double since he had {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} but the {5-Spades} in the window put a seeming end to that. It was followed by {k-Spades}{2-Spades} on the flop and {7-Clubs} and {a-Spades} on the turn and river, respectively.

Istomin wished everyone good luck.
