The Stakes are Rising With the €101,000 Super High Roller
The most expensive tournament of the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final awaits with Day 1 of the €101,000 Super High Roller. While scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. local time, it wouldn't be unusual for tournaments of that buy-in range to get underway on a delay.
All previous Super High Rollers of the festival were host to a plethora of poker's biggest names, and this tournament shapes up to attract the very best in order to determine yet another poker millionaire on the partypoker LIVE tour.
To list all of the usual suspects with their respective achievements would take quite some time, but a quick glance on the all-time money list will reveal the participants without scrolling down too far. Erik Seidel tops them all with more than $33 million in cashes and he already added some to that after a third-place finish in the initial €25,500 Super High Roller for €300,000.
Another two names that comes to mind as running pretty hot in the previous 12 months would be Justin Bonomo and Adrian Mateos. Bonomo destroyed the competition during the US Poker Open and added the Super High Roller Bowl China title to his poker resume for more than $4.8 million. Bonomo is up to more than $25 million in cashes on the live circuit.
Last but not least, Spanish wonderkid Adrian Mateos should not be underestimated on home soil. Three WSOP bracelets, an EPT title and several High Roller titles are just a few of the feats of Mateos. In the two €25,500 Super High Roller events of the festival at Casino Barcelona, the Spaniard finished 4th each and will be roaring for more.
At least 12 levels of 40 minutes each will be played on Day 1, but that may increase depending on the number of entries. The tournament comes with a guaranteed prize pool of €2,000,000 but there is little doubt that this number will be eclipsed.
