Day 1b of the 2021 partypoker MILLIONS Online Main Event has come to an end after more than nine hours of play. The second and last starting flight attracted 493 entries which can be added to the 591 entries which were collected on Day 1a to get to a total number of 1,084 buy-ins. The $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool was easily surpassed as a total prize purse of $5,420,000 had been created.

Out of all the Day 1b entries, 74 players made it through to Day 2 with Canada's Peter Jetten leading the pack with 26,423,338. He earned most of those chips when he scored a big double through partypoker's own Mikita Badziakouski during the bubble for Day 2. Jetten's four-bet got called by the partypoker Ambassador. On the trey-seven-seven flop, Badziakouski check-raised the continuation-bet of Jetten who then decided to shove and got called. They both held a pocket pair but Jetten was ahead with the higher one to jump into the lead during the latter stages of the day,

Jetten is followed in the counts by Aleksei Barkov (18,158,570), Pavel Veksler (15,854,702), Viktor Zsemlye (14,593,338), and Sosia Jiang (14,323,488). Other familiar names in the top ten include Christian Jeppsson, Christopher Brewer, and Brock Wilson.

partypoker Twitch Streamer Matt Staples bricked the sats today and had to enter the tournament with a direct buy-in but things didn't fare well for the Canadian. He steadily lost chips and in the end, he had to hand the ones he had left to Joseph Cheong who held the higher kicker. John Duthie didn't do much better and kept it to one bullet today which he busted before the end of the late registration period.

Mary Pudmoreff won her Main Event seat when she was selected by Kristen Bicknell on Twitter and even though she took out Timothy Adams and stayed alive a few times, her run came to an end when her stack went in on the turn with pocket kings. Unfortunately for her, Dean Arsenie had hit a set of tens to send the Canadian out of the tournament without cashing. Joao Simao busted twice, Isaac Haxton was taken out by Jesse Wigan with Joni Jouhkimainen falling to Anton Siden.

Patrick Leonard ended up finishing in 80th place when he effectively shoved from the small blind to then call for the remainder of his stack against Aki Virtanen who outkicked him. The bubble for Day 2 lasted around 30 minutes before Ali Imsirovic finally got his short stack in with ace-king suited but couldn't beat the king-jack of Timothy Ulmer who turned two pair and rivered a full house for a prettier picture for the end of the day.

Zbigniew Gorzycki is the only player who made it through Day 1a and Day 1b so his shortest stack from Day 1a will be forfeited and 160 players will return for Day 2 on Monday, March 1, at 7:05 p.m. GMT to battle it out. They have all secured at least $10,695 but will all be eyeing up that first-place prize of $892,273.

When play resumes, the level duration will be increased to 30 minutes each. The first level of the day features a small blind of 70,000, a big blind of 140,000, and a running ante of 17,500. Ten levels of play are on the menu before the remaining players will break for Day 3.

Make sure to return as PokerNews will be back too to provide you will all the live updates as they happen.
