Day 1 Completed

"TinCap" Takes Lion's Share of a Four-Way Deal in $215 Event #1: $75K GTD Sunday Special 8-Max

The BetMGM Online Series Poker Michigan has now had the first event come to a close after just eight hours of play in Event #1: $75K GTD Sunday Special 8-Max which saw 339 runners sign up. A deal was struck once four-handed play began that ended with "TinCap" coming home with the biggest piece of the pie, pulling in $10,342 as the top finisher.

"TinCap" started the final table third on the totem pole but it wasn't long before a big hand sent them right to the bottom of the barrel. They slowly clawed their way back into the game and by the time only five were left they kicked it into overdrive. "TinCap" took down hand after hand before eliminated "jjpoker75" in fifth place to take the lead and just moments later a deal was made leaving them with the biggest prize.

"DaFish24" was close behind, taking down $9,689 for their efforts after dominating the latter parts of this event from three tables down. They sent over a couple of short-stack doubles during the final table but still managed to finish near the top. "sportfreak25 was an under-the-radar player that sent two players of the final table out the door, blasting their stack up to the top until the very end. "mattchewy77" seemingly laddered up playing low-ball poker and was more than accepting of the deal that was presented, adding a decent-sized cash to their bankroll.

Action Of The Day

The first BetMGM Online Series Poker Michigan drew a lot of hype and players showed up to play as the day started with over 100 players but the late registration period saw barely any action which resulted in just 339 runners by the end. This number was slightly lower than anticipated and failed to reach the $75,000 guarantee that was set, meaning all players had a shot at the $7,200 overlay.A total of 103 runners were left standing after the 15 level late registration period and 56 of those were to find at least a $350 min-cash with the eventual winner pulling in $13,725.

It was not long before the bubble was popped, taking just an hour and it was "smftt" dubbed as the inevitable bubble. An hour later and only two tabled remained with "DaFish24" in a commanding lead. "JDrik9", "AA_Uber_Beats", "Thrmiller55", and "Candle1er" all shipped off in the next few hands which left just nine. The hand-for-hand play was announced but after only a hand it was gone as "BishPlz" was eliminated when they pushed their ace-jack into the ace-queen of "jjpoker75" who scooped with two pair to set the final table of eight.

"sportfreak25" was around average at the table until finding a big hand in the small blind with some action to follow. "Dub13" opened from the button with ace-jack and "sportfreak25" then shoved pocket kings. "Dub13" called for slightly less and the board ran out clean, shipping a big pot over to "sportfreak25" and "Dub13" was the first to go. "The Magician" found pocket fives and elected to jam, only to run into the snowmen of "DaFish24" who sent "The Magician" out the door in seventh.

A rollercoaster final table was had by "Towelie" who shoved their short stack in with queen-eight but "sportfreak25" again woke up with a monster, having pocket queens in the big blind to send "Towelie" home. The last eliminating of the event was "jjpoker75" who three-bet shoved with their suited ace-eight but "TinCap" had ace-queen and neither hit a thing, sending the pot to "TinCap" who took the lead with that elimination.

The deal button was then clicked by the remaining four players and almost instantly it was agreed upon that "TinCap" was to take down the lion's share of the prize pool for a payday worth $10,342. "DaFish24" was second, taking home $9,689, "sportfreak25" secured $9,510, and "mattchewy77" grabbed a $7,942 payout stub.

"jjpoker75" Eliminated in 5th Place ($4,575)

On blinds of 70,000/140,000, "TinCap" opened to 280,000 from the hijack and "jjpoker75" three0bet jammed 1,287,235 into the middle. "TinCap" called and they turned over their hands.

"jjpoker75": {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
"TinCap": {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

A {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop landed on the felt and "jjpoker75" was in rough shape. The {k-Clubs} turn brought little promise and the {4-Diamonds} river secured it for "TinCap" who pulled in the pot with a better kicker, eliminating "jjpoker75" from the event.

"Towelie" Eliminated in 6th Place ($3,450)

On blinds of 70,000/140,000, "Towelie" shoved all in for a total of 779,216, and action folded around to "sportfreak25" in the big blind who snap-called.

"Towelie": {q-Spades}{8-Spades}
"sportfreak25": {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

An unfortunate spot failed to get better after the {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop and an {a-Diamonds} then landed on the turn, cementing the pot for "sportfreak25" who then had "Towelie" drawing dead to the {j-Hearts} river card.

"The Magician" Eliminated in 7th Place ($2,550)

On blinds of 60,000/120,000, "DaFish24" opened to 264,000 from middle position and "The Magician" three-bet shoved 1,863,837 in the cutoff. "DaFish24" snap-called and they tabled their hands.

"The Magician": {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
"DaFish24": {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop spread out on the virtual felt and nickels were still behind. A {7-Clubs} turn was of no help and neither was the {7-Hearts} river as "The Magician" was eliminated, sending their stack over to "DaFish24".

"Dub13" Eliminated in 8th Place ($1,763)

On blinds of 50,000/100,000, action folded around to "Dub13" who raised to 350,000 from the button and "sportfreak25" shoved 2,662,820 in the small blind. "Dub13" called for less, putting their 2,213,072.

"Dub13": {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
"sportfreak25": {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Cowboys were on top and the {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop kept it that way. A {5-Spades} turn card left "Dub13" in need of a non-spade bullet but the {j-Hearts} river was not it, eliminating "Dub13" from the final table first.

"Towelie" Finds a Triple on the River

On blinds of 45,000/90,000, "DaFish24" opened to 198,000 from middle position and "The Magician" called in the cutoff. "Towelie" jammed 874,374 in the small blind and "DaFish24" called. "The Magician" pushed over the top for almost 3,200,000 and "DaFish24" quickly ducked out.

"Towelie": {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
"The Magician": {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The flop fell {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and big slick was still in the lead. A {6-Diamonds} turn brought a flush draw for "Towelie" and the {j-Clubs} didn't complete it but it did pair them up to secure the pot for a complete triple up on the river.

Two Monster Stacks Collide

On blinds of 40,000/80,000, "jjpoker75" opened to 75,000 from under the gun and "DaFish24" was in the cutoff when they made it 480,000 to go. "jjpoker75" called to see the {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and then tapped to "DaFish24" who continued for 348,000.

A call brought a {6-Spades} turn and "jjpoker75" again checked to "DaFish24" who again fired, this time for 928,000 and "jjpoker75" timebank-folded, shipping the pot to "DaFish24".
