"alwaysliquid" Wins partypoker US Network Online Series Event #4 for $7,463

Event #4
Event #4

"alwaysliquid" took down Event #4 of the partypoker US Network Online Series Wednesday night in dramatic fashion, putting an exclamation mark onto their victory by way of a straight flush-versus-nut flush situation en route to the first-place prize of $7,463.

The $215 buyin featured a guaranteed prize pool of $15,000, and 134 runners ensured that number would be blown away. A total prize pool of $26,800 was paid out across the top 15 places, with "alwaysliquid" among the shortest stacks when play made it into the money. Their ascent then began, eventually entering the final table with the chip lead after eliminating "rumpthumper" in 10th place.

The Final Table

Ryan "TheSims" Hohner entered the final table as the shortest stack. He quickly found a double, but lost a bit back before losing a coin flip to take ninth place. Recent WPT Online Main Event champion David "TheKing411" Coleman was the next to bow out. Coleman doubled eventual runner-up BoozeHound to be left with under three big blinds, which he lost a couple of hands later.

Moments later, "pay4medsch00l" was eliminated in seventh before "BoozeHound" doubled once more, this time leaving Brian "TopCreature" Sherrier" with two big blinds. Sherrier and "RickRahim" then went out on the same hand by way of a double elimination at the expense of "alwaysliquid."

"spinach_kale" then went out in fourth after their pocket kings saw the pocket nines of "MyCousinVinny5" flop a set to bring about three-handed play, where chips exchanged hands through two doubles before "MyCousinVinny5" was eliminated by "alwaysliquid" in third place.

Heads-up play then began and went back and forth for a bit before reaching the zenith for "alwaysliquid". A single-raised pot saw a ten-seven-six flop hit the board, with all three cards being clubs. The ace- and jack of clubs finished the runout and all of the chips made it into the middle via an overbet shove and a call. When hands were shown, "BoozeHound" had called with the king of clubs for the nut flush, but it proved to be no good as "alwaysliquid" had flopped a straight flush to wrap up the five-and-a-half-hour event in a truly unique and memorable fashion.

"BoozeHound" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($4,917)

"BoozeHound"

In Level 30 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and an ante of 7,500, "BoozeHound" raised to 150,000 on the button and "alwaysliquid" defended their big blind.

The flop dropped {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and "alwaysliquid" checked. "BoozeHound" made a continuation-bet of 120,000 and "alwaysliquid" called.

Both players checked the turn {a-Clubs} and the river fell {j-Clubs} to bring a flush on board. "alwaysliquid" overbet-jammed for over 1 million and "BoozeHound" quickly called.

"BoozeHound": {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
"alwaysliquid": {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The result was the improbable: nut flush versus straight flush. "BoozeHound" called all off all of their remaining chips with the nut flush on an unpaired board, only to see the pot sent to "alwaysliquid" for their flopped straight flush to bring about the end of the tournament.

"BoozeHound" receives a payday of $4,917 for their runner-up finish, while "alwaysliquid" earns the top prize of $7,463. A full recap of the event will be provided shortly.

In Level 30 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and an ante of 7,500, preflop action resulted in 262,000 in the pot on a with heads-up action between "alwaysliquid" in the small blind and "MyCousinVinny5" in the big blind.

The flop {7-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades} saw "alwaysliquid" check-raise a bet from "MyCousinVinny5" to put over 1 million into the pot before the rest of the chips got in on the turn {5-Spades}.

"alwaysliquid": {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
"MyCousinVinny5": {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

"MyCousinVinny5" was one card away from a double with their two pair, but the river {5-Hearts} counterfeited it to give "alwaysliquid" queens up, resulting in "MyCousinVinny5" taking third place in the tournament.

In Level 29 with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and an ante of 6,250, Brian “TopCreature” Sherrier shoved for 89,000 under the gun and "RickRahim" re-shoved for 594,000 in the cutoff. "alwaysliquid" called on the button and both players in the blinds folded.

Brian “TopCreature” Sherrier: {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
"RickRahim": {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
"alwaysliquid": {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

An ace on the flop {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades} all but sealed the deal, and the turn {2-Clubs} and river {j-Diamonds} made the runout official, giving "alwaysliquid" a pair of aces to score them the double knockout and eliminate both Sherrier in sixth and "RickRahim" in fifth place.

In Level 27 with blinds of 18,000/36,000 and an ante of 4,500, David "TheKing411" Coleman jammed for his last 93,000 and received calls by "alwaysliquid" in the small blind and "spinach_kale" in the big blind.

The flop came {j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and "alwaysliquid" bet 36,000. "spinach_kale" called and the turn came {9-Hearts}. Both players checked and the river fell {a-Diamonds}. "alwaysliquid" fired out 226,000 and "spinach_kale" called.

Ryan Hohner

In Level 27 with blinds of 18,000/36,000 and an ante of 4,500, Ryan "TheSims" Hohner jammed for 376,000 under the gun and action folded around to "alwaysliquid," who called in the big blind.

Ryan "TheSims" Hohner: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
"alwysliquid": {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

The flop came {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} to give "alwaysliquid" a set of fours. However, Hohner still had eight outs to double as he flopped an open-ended straight draw. Unfortunately for him, the turn {3-Hearts} and river {q-Spades} did nothing more than leave him with a still-second-best pair of queens and he was eliminated from the tournament in ninth place.

"alwaysliquid" Eliminates "rumpthumper" on the Final Table Bubble

"rumpthumper"
"rumpthumper"

In Level 26 with blinds of 16,000/32,000 and an ante of 4,000, preflop action saw all of the chips go into the middle with "rumpthumper" at risk in the small blind against "alwaysliquid," who was in the hijack.

"rumpthumper": {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
"alwaysliquid": {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

"rumpthumper" needed to spike an ace or a jack to double and stay alive. Instead, an eight-high runout of {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} came to result in their departure from the tournament on the final table bubble in 10th place.

Nine players now remain, all of whom are on the final table with play officially underway.

"anthonely" Wins a Flip To Double As Tournament Reaches Two Tables

"anthonely"
"anthonely"

In Level 21 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, "Donate_here" opened to 28,000 under the gun and saw action fold around to "anthonely," who was on the button and three-bet shoved for 121,000. "Donate_here" called.

"anthonely": {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
"Donate_here": {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

"anthonely" needed to hold in order to stay alive and a queen-high runout of {q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} did nothing more than give them an added sweat on the river before the pot of 277,000 was shipped their way.

Meanwhile, "upayformypennys" was eliminated from an adjacent table to bring the field down to 19, and that number became 18 moments later when "chopuey" was eliminated by David "TheKing411" Coleman, who had a pot shipped his way with ace-king.
