Congratulations to Yong “IReadYrSoul” Kwon, Winner of the $100,000 Guaranteed Event!

The opening event of the latest partypoker US Online Series is officially in the books, and after over ten hours of play, it was Yong “IReadYrSoul” Kwon, who emerged on top of a stacked final table, taking home $19,756.88 for his efforts.

Kwon started the final table in the middle of the pack, as it was “sarmadi3” who started as the big stack. He would increase that lead when he knocked out Sridhar “sri100k” Sangannagari in 9th place.

After that, it was Kwon who would make his move. First, he doubled up with quads, and then not long after that, he would score his first knockout of the final table.

“Sarmadi3” would extend his chip lead from there, but when play got down to five handed, eventual runner up Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta started to make his move. First, he did nearly all the work involved in busting “Core4” in fifth place.

Then, Datta would string together a series of small pots, before he eventually busted “sarmadi3” in fourth place.

Kwon would then knock out Jon “Jetsfan411” Borenstein in third place, but he still started heads up play with a big disadvantage to Datta. However, he was able to turn it around rather quickly, sealing the event not long after that.

Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta Eliminated in 2nd Place ($14,185.60)

Blinds: 400,000/800,000

Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta got his short stack in the middle preflop holding {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, but he was dominated by the {a-Spades}{3-Spades} of Yong “IReadYrSoul” Kwon. The flop of {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} didn't change much, and while the {2-Diamonds} turn brought some chop outs, the {a-Hearts} river wasn't one of them, giving Kwon the hand, and the title!

Datta will earn $14,185.60 for his efforts, but the first place prize of $19,756.88 will be going with Yong “IReadYrSoul” Kwon. Stay tuned for a full recap to be posted shortly.

Jon “Jetsfan411” Borenstein Eliminated in 3rd Place ($9,838.40)

Blinds: 300,000/600,000

Yong “IReadYrSoul” Kwon moved all in preflop, and Jon “Jetsfan411” Borenstein made the call for just a bit less.

Jon “Jetsfan411” Borenstein: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Yong “IReadYrSoul” Kwon: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The flop of {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} gave Borenstein top two pair, but also gave Kwon a flush draw, and he would hit that flush with the {j-Hearts} turn. The {2-Diamonds} river changed nothing, and Kwon scored the near double up to get him slightly closer to Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta.

"sarmadi3" Eliminated in 4th Place ($7,779.20)

Blinds: 200,000/400,000

"sarmadi3" was the chip leader for most of the final table, but after losing a series of pots to Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta, he was suddenly on the short stack, and all in preflop for 2.7 million total. By the time the board had completed {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Datta fired four million, and after Kwon folded, Datta showed {a-Spades}{6-Clubs} for a straight, beaing the set of eights from "sarmadi3."

With that pot, Datta now holds an overwhelming chip lead.

"Core4" Crippled, Eliminated in 5th Place ($6,463.60)

Blinds: 160,000/320,000

Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta moved all in from the button, and in the big blind, "Core4" called for nearly all his chips with {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Datta showed {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}, and the eights would hold on the {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

That left "Core4" with just 1.5 big blinds, and he would be eliminated a short time later, leaving just four players now.

Eric “alwaysliquid” Vanauken Elimnated in 7th Place ($4,175.60), "RobertJordan" Eliminated in 6th Place ($5,319.60)

Blinds: 120,000/240,000

Eric “alwaysliquid” Vanauken was down to just one big blind when he moved all in, and he got three callers. The flop of {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} saw "RobertJordan" lead for 525,000. Both "Core4" and "sarmadi3" called, and the {8-Clubs} hit the turn. "RobertJordan" moved all in for 710,000, and again, both his opponents called.

The river brought the {q-Clubs}, and "Core4" checked to "sarmadi3", who fired 2.1 million. "Core4" folded, and "sarmadi3" tabled {9-Spades}{5-Spades} for an unbeatable straight, scoring two knockouts in the process.

"Smitty15" Eliminated in 8th Place ($3,203.20)

Blinds: 120,000/240,000

Catching up with the action on the turn of a board showing {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}, Yong “IReadYrSoul” Kwon fired out a bet, only to see "Smitty15" move all in. Kwon quickly called with {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for a turned set, and he would have to fade the draw outs of "Smitty15", who had {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The {7-Hearts} river hit both players, giving "Smitty15" a flush, but also giving Kwon a full house, giving him another big pot.

Sridhar Sangannagari

Blinds: 100,000/200,000

Following a raise from "sarmadi3", Sridhar “sri100k” Sangannagari reraised to about two million from the small blind. "sarmadi3" called, and after the flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}, Sangannagari went for a big overbet, movign all in for about six million. "sarmadi3" quickly called with {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for two pair, and Sangannagari was in a world of hurt with just {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

A queen on the turn sealed the hand, sending "sarmadi3" into a massive chip lead with 21 million. The next closest competitor, "Core4", has 10.5 million.

"RobertJordan" Scores Massive Double Elimination

Blinds: 40,000/80,000

"RobertJordan" kicked off the action by raising under the gun, and next to act, "RyDee" moved all in for his final 600,000. In the big blind, "Stevehung" moved all in for about 1.4 million. "RobertJordan" called with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, and he was flipping against his opponent's pocket sixes and fours.

A king came right on the flop, and "RobertJordan" kept his lead to send his stack soaring to over 8.5 million, firmly in second place right now.

Daniel Lupo

Blinds: 3,500/7,000

Following a raise to 17,000 from "illtiltyou", Daniel “centrfieldr23” Lupo moved all in for his final 164,000. It folded back around to "illtiltyou", and he called all in with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}.

He was flipping against the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} of Lupo, and the flip turned into a blowout after the {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} gave Lupo middle set. A six on the turn sealed the hand, and Lupo scored a big double up to nearly 350,000.
