Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd Wins partypoker US Network $215 PLO PKO for $6,204

Ryan Dodd
Ryan Dodd

Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd put on a clinic Wednesday night in Event #6 of the partypoker US Network Online Series, outlasting a field of 88 in the $215 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha Progressive Knockout tournament for $6,204 in total prizes ($2,717 in prizes + $3,487 in bounties).

Dodd triumphed on what was a rare solo entry into the event, as the two-and-a-half-hour late registration period saw the majority of players in for at least two bullets, if not several more. He was seen near the top of the leader board over the first two hours, and had become the chip leader by the time that registration period closed, a title he would not relinquish through the remainder of the tournament.

A frenzy of eliminations occurred just before registration closed and the field found itself culled down to just 15. Nine were set to be paid, and hand-for-hand begun 20 minutes later when 11 were left. The bubble lasted 20 minutes itself, popping when runner-up Michael "UFOLDIWIN" St. John's top set held to eliminate "thekid32" for a pot that put St. John just behind Dodd in the counts.

Fifteen minutes later, the final table of six was reached with Dodd and St. John both well clear of the remaining four in the field. Only one casualty occurred over the next three-and-a-half levels, and during that time Dodd more than doubled his stack. By the time he eliminated "HodorHodorHodor" in fifth place, Dodd had amassed a significant majority of the chips in play before making quick work of "EmeraldForest32 to bring the field down to three.

St. John then eliminated Chris "rumpthumper" White in third during the following level, and Dodd entered the heads-up match with over 70% of the chips in play. He quickly ground down St. John, eventually taking half his stack before St. John found a double to bring stacks back to where they started. Shortly thereafter, Dodd flopped trip jacks and put St. John to a decision for all of his chips on the river. St. John held pocket aces, went deep into the tank, and eventually called to find his aces up no good, resulting in Dodd becoming the victor of the tournament.

This concludes PokerNews coverage of the partypoker US Network Event #6. Make sure you come back Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET for live reporting of Event #7, which features a $535 buy-in six-max PKO with a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John Eliminated in 2nd Place ($2,714 + $625 in Bounties)

Michael St. John
Michael St. John

On the last hand of Level 26 (16,000/32,000/4,000), Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd opened to 96,000 on the button and Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John three-bet to 288,000 in the big blind. Dodd called and the two saw a flop of {2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The turn came {6-Clubs} and St. John checked again. Dodd fired out a bet of 175,000 and St. John called, bringing the total pot up to 934,000. The river fell {5-Diamonds} and St. John checked once more. Dodd fired out a pot-sized bet, more than enough to put St. John all in for his last 543,000.

Faced with a decision for his tournament life, St. John watched his clock expire to bring about his extended time bank. More time passed, and he eventually clicked the call button.

Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd: {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

St. John had called with aces up and immediately saw the bad news that Dodd had flopped trip jacks. The pot was sent to Dodd, who wound up with all the chips and became the tournament victor, eliminating St. John in second place.

A recap of the tournament will be posted shortly, so stay tuned.

In Level 26 with blinds of 16,000/32,000 and an ante of 4,000, Chris “rumpthumper” White got his last 343,000 in preflop on the button against Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John, who was in the big blind.

Chris “rumpthumper” White: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

White had run into kings and the runout {2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} was of no avail, ending his run in third place. Meanwhile, the heads-up match between Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd and Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John is officially underway with Dodd starting out with more than 70% of the chips in play.

"HodorHodorHodor"

In Level 25 with blinds of 14,000/28,000 and an ante of 3,500, all of the chips went into the middle preflop as "HodorHodorHodor" got their last 10 big blinds into the middle in the big blind against Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd, who was in the cutoff.

"HodorHodorHodor": {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}

Dodd saw two of his four cards connect on the flop {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, pulling ahead of his opponent's kings. He stayed there through the turn {4-Clubs} and river {j-Clubs} to send "HodorHodorHodor" to the virtual rail in fifth place.

Kevin “sofcknsick” Campbell Eliminated in 6th Place ($627 + $300 in Bounties)

In Level 22 with blinds of 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 2,000, "HodorHodorHodor" raised to 44,000 in the hijack and action folded around to Kevin “sofcknsick” Campbell in the big blind, who three-bet to 140,000. "HodorHodorHodor" four-bet to 428,000, more than enough to put Campbell all in, who called off his remaining 227,000 in total.

Kevin “sofcknsick” Campbell: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
"HodorHodorHodor": {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Both players had pocket kings and Campbell saw a sweaty flop of {j-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. The turn {7-Hearts} spelled disaster, giving his opponent a flush that left him drawing dead to the river {q-Spades}. As a result, Campbell finished the tournament in sixth place to earn $927 in combined prizes.

"Jinxy" Eliminated on the Final Table Bubble

"Jinxy"
"Jinxy"

In Level 21 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd opened the action with a raise to 49,000 and "EmeraldForest32" called on the button. "Jinxy" three-bet shoved for 132,000 in the small blind, receiving a fold from Dodd and a call from "EmeraldForest32".

"Jinxy": {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
"EmeraldForest32": {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}

"Jinxy's" aces were ahead but the flop came {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to give "EmeraldForest32" the nut straight. "Jinxy" couldn't catch running full house outs as they were drawing dead by the turn {3-Hearts}, leaving only the river {8-Spades} between them and a seventh-place finish.

Six players now remain, all of whom have officially made the final table.

St. John Eliminates "thekid32" On The Bubble

"thekid32"
"thekid32"

In Level 20 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, Chris “rumpthumper” White pumped it up to 42,000 in the cutoff and both Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John and "thekid32" called on the button and in the big blind, respectively.

The flop fell {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and action checked around to St. John, who bet the pot for 139,500. "thekid32" check-jammed for 463,000 and White quickly got out of the way to put action back onto St. John, who just as quickly called.

"thekid32": {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

"thekid32" had run top-and-bottom pair into top set but still had flush outs to stay alive. However, no more hearts came as the turn {3-Diamonds} and river {5-Spades} completed the runout and the seven-figure pot was sent to St. John to result in "thekid32" finding themselves as the official bubble finisher of the tournament in 10th place.

All nine remaining players are officially now in the money.

Hand-For-Hand Play Begins

"ELITEMALESSO"
"ELITEMALESSO"

In Level 17 with blinds of 3,500/7,000 and an ante of 875, action went three ways to a flop of {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Spades} with 47,000 in the middle and Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John led out for 35,000 in the small blind. Kevin “sofcknsick” Campbell called in the big blind to put action onto "ELITEMALESSO" in the cutoff, who shoved for 71,000. St. John reraised to 175,000 and Campbell came over the top, shoving for 278,000. St. John called all in for less, resulting in all three players' hands being shown.

"ELITEMALESSO": {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}
Michael “UFOLDIWIN” St. John: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Kevin “sofcknsick” Campbell: {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Campbell was ahead after flopping bottom two pair and further improved as the turn {3-Diamonds} gave him a set. However, any spade or diamond on the river would improve one or both players to a flush, and the river {k-Spades} wound up putting St. John on top to earn him both pots and the knockout. Moments earlier, "Edsebo" was eliminated by Chris “rumpthumper” White in 13th place, meaning 11 players now remain. Two more eliminations are needed to reach the money, and hand-for-hand play is now in effect across the two remaining tables until the bubble bursts.
