The Ladies Love Sewnig

In Level 27 with blinds of 14,000/28,000 and an ante of 3,500, action folded to "TheTerminator1", who was on the button and limped in. Dan "mj23style" Sewnig was next to act in the small blind and pumped it up to 126,000. "TheTerminator1" called to take action heads up to a flop of {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, where both players checked.

The turn came {j-Spades} and Sewnig fired a bet of 167,000. "TheTerminator1" called and the river fell {2-Clubs}. Sewnig bet again, this time for 327,000, and "TheTerminator1" called without much deliberation.

Sewnig showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for an overpair of queens and the pot of 1.29 million was sent his way, taking him to nearly 3.5 million and further increasing his chip lead as six-handed play continues.

Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd Eliminated in 3rd Place ($3,432)

Ryan Dodd
Ryan Dodd

In Level 28 with blinds of 16,000/32,000 and an ante of 4,000, Dan "mj23style" Sewnig pumped it up to 70,000 on the button and Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd three-bet to 227,000 in the big blind. Sewnig called.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Dodd made a continuation-bet of 361,000. Sewnig shoved all in over the top for just over 1 million effective and Dodd called off his remaining 650,000

Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd: {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Dan "mj23style" Sewnig: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Dodd's pair of fours was behind Sewnig's nines and neither the turn {2-Hearts} nor the river {q-Hearts} would help him stay alive. Two nights after Dodd won Event #6, his run in Event #8 has officially come to an end in third place with a payday of $3,432 to go along with it.

"pay4medsch00l" Takes The Early Momentum

"pay4medsch00l"
"pay4medsch00l"

On the last hand of Level 29 (18,000/36,000/4,500), "pay4medsch00l" had already chipped up to 1.7 million and defended their big blind to a raise from Dan "mj23style" Sewnig, who was on the button. Both players checked the flop {10-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and "pay4medsch00l" bet the turn {6-Clubs}, which Sewnig called.

The river fell {10-Diamonds} and "pay4medsch00l" bet another 90,000. Sewnig went into the tank, activating their time bank before putting in a raise to 392,000. Moments later, "pay4medsch00l" three-bet shoved for over 1 million.

Faced with a decision that could potentially end the tournament in his favor, Sewnig opted not to call and "pay4medsch00l" found themselves with a stack of 2.3 million moving into the next level of play.
