“Kadabras” Wins Event #17: $15,000 GTD Black Chip Bounty NLH for $5,496 + $500 in Bounties

The partypoker US Network Online Series Event #17: $15,000 GTD Black Chip Bounty NLH exceeded its guarantee Saturday night, drawing 75 entries for a prize pool of $22,875. Of those 75 entries, ”Kadabras” was the one to come out on top, claiming the first-place prize of $4,996.90 plus $500 in bounties.

As registration drew near it's close, three players were busy acquiring as many bounties as they could. "Turkeyleg" ended the evening with 10 bounties for $1,000 while "mooseman1710" racked up the second most bounties with nine for $900. Coming in third in knockouts was "alwaysliquid" with seven for $700. While "alwaysliquid" finished just outside the money, both "Turkeyleg" and "mooseman1710" made the final table.

As registration was closing, three players jumped in looking to run their five-big-blind stacks up. One of those three did much more than that.

The final table was led by "mooseman1710" who at one point had over a third of the chips in play with nine players remaining. However, "mooseman1710" met their end in fourth place for $1,537.50 plus $900 in bounties.

The final two came down to "DaCoolerKing" with 2,000,000 in chips against "Kadabras" with 1,500,000. If any of the busted players stayed to watch, they may have been rooting for "DaCoolerKing" for one major reason — "Kadabras" registered for the event at the very last second, jumping in with five big blinds and a dream. On the way to heads-up play, "Kadabras" could not be stopped as they had quickly taken three bounties from their opponents.

The final hand saw both players go all in before the flop and a dramatic board kept everyone in suspense.

"Kadabras": {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
"DaCoolerKing": {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The flop came {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} to give "DaCoolerKing"an up-and-down straight draw to go with his overs.. However, both the turn and river bricked to send "DaCoolerKing" out in second place and give the largest prize of the night to "Kadabras."

"Kadabras," who registered at the last moment with five big blinds, ended the night with $4,996.90 plus $500 in bounties.

"DaCoolerKing" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($2,905.87 + $100 in Bounties)

Despite starting the heads-up match at a big chip disadvantage, "DaCoolerKing" shipped two doubles to take the lead. The two jostled a bit more, and "Kadabras" managed to pull back out in front when the final hand too place.

It happened in Level 24 (12,00024,000/3,000) when "DaCoolerKing" limped the button and then called off for approximately 1.5 million after "Kadabras" shoved.

"DaCoolerKing": {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
"Kadabras": {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

It was another race and the {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop made things interesting by giving both players straight draws. The {4-Spades} turn was no help to "DaCoolerKing" and neither was the {2-Diamonds} river to send him home in second place.

"eddie11" Eliminated in 3rd Place ($2,091 + $200 in Bounties)

In Level 24 (12,000/24,000/3,000), "eddie11" raised to 72,000 from the button and "Kadabras" responded by moving all in. With "DaCoolerKing" sitting on the short stack with 533,404, there was ICM implications on the line. Nonetheless, "eddie11" opted to call off his 1.2 million and it was off to the races.

"Kadabras": {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
"eddie11": {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

"eddie11" was slightly ahead with the pocket pair and looking to hold, but that proved easier said than done as the {5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop paired "Kadabras." Neither the {2-Diamonds} turn nor {3-Diamonds} river changed a thing and "Kadabras" took a big 3.2 million to 533K chip lead into heads-up play.

"Kadabras": {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
"mooseman1710": {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

"mooseman1710" got it in good with top pair but "Kadabras" had a heart flush draw, which they hit on the {7-Hearts} turn. The {9-Hearts} river improved him to a straight flush and "mooseman1710" had to settle for fourth place.
