"KISSMYACE87" Wins Event #5

Tuesday night was bounty night for the partypoker US Network Online Series, and it began with Event #5: $2,000 GTD Red Chip Bounty. The $20 buy-in tournament drew 289 entries due to its unlimited re-entry format and generated a total prize pool of $5,202, more than two-and-a-half times the guarantee.

When all was said and done, "KISSMYACE87" was the one left with all the chips after roughly five hours of play, earning a first-place prize of $913.02 ($883.02 prize plus $30 in bounties). They took a top-10 stack into the money bubble and proceeded to find themselves with the chip lead almost an hour later when the final table was reached and they knocked out "Pudgy53" (ninth place) on one of the very first hands of the final table.

A Furious Pace To the Finish

The late registration period of more than three-and-a-half hours saw players continue to take shots at building a stack until the very last minute. Once re-entries were no longer allowed, the blinds quickly caught up and it took less than three full levels for the field to reach 30 and make it into the money.

From there, players continued to fall as the final two tables were reached within two levels and twenty minutes after that, only nine remained. "Pudgy53" lost with ace-ten to the pocket queens of eventual champion "KISSMYACE87" to kick off the final table, and "BrigBeast06" and "Passias27" found themselves fall within the same level.

A short break in bust-outs happened as "amandarose_710" doubled through "Fastrayjr19", but the pair would eventually take third and fourth places respectively. "KISSMYACE87" would then begin the heads-up match with a slight deficit to eventual runner-up "Modaddy41", but they flopped trip eights and doubled to take a commanding lead and proceeded to seal the deal a few hands later, earning more than $900 combined among their prize and bounties as a result of their efforts.

"Modaddy41" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($629.29 + $60 in Bounties)

"Modaddy41"
"Modaddy41"

Despite finding a double of their own in Level 28 with blinds of 20,000/40,000 and an ante of 5,000; "Modaddy41" was still at a sizeable chip disadvantage when they got all in out of the big blind and received action from "KISSMYACE87," who was on the button.

"Modaddy41": {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}
"KISSMYACE87": {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The final board read {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Hearts} to result in "KISSMYACE87" having a pair of kings to beat "Modaddy41's" pair of fours, resulting in the "KISSMYACE87" winning the hand and therefore the tournament.

"Modaddy41" was the second-place finisher, earning $629.29 plus $60 in bounties for their efforts.

Meanwhile, "KISSMYACE87" has won the partypoker US Network Online Series Event #5 for $883.02 plus $30 in bounties.

In Level 27 with blinds of 18,000/36,000 and an ante of 4,500, "Modaddy41" was on the button and became involved in a pot with "amandarose_710". Stacks got in postflop.

"Modaddy41": {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
"amandarose_710": {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

When the runout was finished, the board read {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}: "amandarose_710" had flopped a flush and gotten all in only to see "Modaddy41" back into a full house. They were left with one big blind and it was dusted on the following hand to result in them taking third place in the tournament.

Heads-up play has now begun with "Modaddy41" having the chip lead to begin play.

"Lanfeust" Saved on the River

"Lanfeust"
"Lanfeust"

In Level 11 with blinds of 1,400/2,800 and an ante of 350, "Lanfeust" was under the gun and in the process of jamming for 74,700 over a raise from "bmweiser," who was on their direct left. "bmweiser" went called and had their eyes set on the possible bounty.

"Lanfeust": {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
"bmweiser": {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

"Lanfeust" was ahead by a wide margin and poised to win the pot of more than 150,000. However, the flop came {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} to give "bmweiser" a pair of aces and put them out in front as the new favorite for both the pot and the knockout. The turn {3-Hearts} changed nothing, but the river {k-Clubs} came to the rescue for "Lanfeust" and gave them a set of kings, earning them the pot and the double as a result.
