PartyPoker US Network Online Series
PartyPoker US Network Online Series

For the past week, the PartyPoker US Network Online Series has been hosting a series of events on partypoker US, Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker. Today, that series will come to a head with the final three tournaments on the 21-event schedule.

One of those tournaments is the highly-anticipated $400 buy-in, $100K GTD Main Event, which will get underway at 5 p.m. ET and be live reported throughout right here on PokerNews. In addition to the High Main Event, there will also be a $55 buy-in, $20K GTD Low Main Event at the same time on Sunday, and while we won't be offering live updates from that tournament, rest assured we'll provide a mini-recap upon its conclusion.

The Main Event will feature 12 and 15-minute blind levels with players given a healthy 100,000 starting stack. Late registration and re-entry will be open until the end of Level 21.

Last month, the $400 buy-in 2020 Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series $100,000 GTD Main Event saw 346 entries generate a total prize pool of $126,290, and "TheKing411" reigned supreme above all to earn a prize of $28,604.70 for their efforts.

One for "Allyoucaneat"

In Level 1 (150/300), "DaCoolerKing," who last night finished runner-up in Event #17: $15,000 GTD Black Chip Bounty NLH, raised to 1,050 from the hijack and "Allyoucaneat" called from the button.

Both blinds folded and it was heads-up action to the flop, which came down {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

"DaCoolerKing" continued for 1,435 and called when "Allyoucaneat" raised to 4,305.

After the {4-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, "DaCoolerKing" checked and "Allyoucaneat" put out a bet. It did the trick as "DaCoolerKing" released their hand.

Dodd Takes from Buzgon

In Level 12 (1,600/3,200/400), Ryan "Whosyourdoddy" Dodd min-raised to 6,400 from middle position and Daniel Buzgon defended his big blind to see a {5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Spades} flop.

Action went check-check and repeated itself on the {3-Diamonds} turn.

When the {j-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Buzgon took a stab at it to the tune of 4,500 and Dodd snap-called.

Buzgon showed the {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of eights but it was no good as Dodd rolled over the {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Get to Know BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro Katie Stone

Katie Stone
Katie Stone

BorgataPoker.com has a trio of Sponsored Pros, and one of them is Katie Stone, who is still in action in this tournament.

Stone has more than $176K in lifetime live tournament earnings including a career-bet $33,305 for finishing 378th in the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event. In addition, Stone has three Borgata Open titles including the 2018 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepest Stack for $19,337, 2017 Borgata Summer Poker Open $300 Ladies Event for $2,867, and 2017 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepstack for $9,484. She also recently won the CSOP Borgata Winter Poker Open Event back in January.

However, where Stone has really thrived is online where she’s amassed more than $900K in lifetime earnings. Of that, $146,954 has come on BorgataPoker.com where she plays under the screen name “KatieStone.”

According to a Q&A she did with the Borgata Blog, Stone was born and raised in New Jersey, but after Black Friday in 2011, she relocated to Rosarito, Mexico in order to continue playing online. When New Jersey authorized Atlantic City casinos to offer online gaming within state borders, Stone moved back north to New Jersey and picked up where she left off — winning!

Recently, Stone took the initiative to create the Discord channel “Poker Peeps Affected By COVID19” and invited those in casino industry affected by recent shutdowns to join.

“I realized how tough it was going to be for everyone to keep up with everything and everyone, with so much changing so fast,” Stone recently told PokerNews. “So, I messaged my friend Cy Watson, who has been very active on social media as well regarding Coronavirus, asking him if he thought it would be a good idea to start a chat for people in the industry to be able to connect with each other for help.”

She continued: “I think the main thing poker players and everyone can do is to keep an open mind. Understanding that this is unlike any situation any of us have encountered before, and so thinking outside the box can go a long way. Taking the time to improve a skill, or learn a new skill whether it's a game or something else could be really beneficial not just financially, but mentally.”

Stone is current sitting with 131,095 in Level 15 (2,500/5,000/625)/

The Ladies Love SugarJ

In Level 19 (5,000/10,000/1,250), "SugarJ" got his last approximately 85,000 all in preflop and found himself at risk against Katie Stone, albeit out in front.

"SugarJ": {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Katie Stone: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Stone's best shot to score the knockout was to catch an ace, but the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} all-eights flop opened up another opportunity as the case ace would put quads on the board and give her the best kicker.

Fortunately for "SugarJ," neither the {6-Diamonds} turn nor {9-Clubs} river changed things and they shipped the double.
