Wecome to Day 3 of the $25,000 High Roller event here at the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure! Out of the 151 entrants, 90 players returned for Day 2. After 12 levels, just 12 remain, all with a shot to capture the $1,72,850 first-place prize.
Jason Mercier is the chip leader with 1,023,000, but his Day 2 was hardly a breeze. With 21 players left, Mercier nearly went from second in chips to out after his tournament life was at risk against Day 1 chip leader Ryan Fair. However, Mercier's overcards prevailed against Fair's pair, vaulting Mercier back up the counts en route to the end-of-day chip lead. Here are the Day 3 seating assignments.

Jason Mercier raised to 40,000 from the hijack and Matt Affleck went all in for 93,000 total from the cutoff. Action folded back to Mercier and he called.

Affleck takes home $92,490 for his 12th-place showing.
Action folded to Max Lykov on the button who min-raised to 40,000. Jason Mercier three-bet to 111,000 from the small blind and Will Molson four-bet shoved for 407,000 more from the big blind. Lykov quickly folded, but Mercier went into the tank.
"$#!T," he eventually muttered. "Wish I made it smaller. What's your range, bro?"
"What do you have?" Molson asked with a grin.
"I don't think I'm allowed to tell you," Mercier said, turning to a floorperson. They smiled and shook their head 'no.'
After a few more minutes of deliberation Mercier mucked his hand and Molson was awarded the pot.
Tom Marchese opened to 46,000 from under the gun and the action folded all the way to Erik Seidel who called in the big blind. The flop fell and both players checked.
The turn was the and Seidel check-called 58,000 from Marchese.
The river brought the and Seidel checked a third time. Marchese opted to fire another bullet - this one was worth 137,000. Seidel again called and Marchese instantly mucked his hand. Seidel opened for a pair of nines and was shipped the pot.
Marchese dropped to 470,000 chips while Seidel chipped up to 930,000.
Jaosn Mercier opened to 40,000 from under the gun and Max Lykov defended his big blind. The flop came down and Lykov led for 52,000. Mercier called.
The dealer burned and turned the . Lykov led for 111,000 and Mercier again called.
The rivered and Lykov led for a third time. The bet was 217,000 this time and Mercier called for a third time.
Lykov opened for a jack-high straight and Mercier opened for the same hand. Mercier flopped the straight whereas Lykov got there on the turn, but regardless the two chopped the pot.
Action folded to Tom Marchese who moved all in for effectively 240,000 from the small blind. Shander de Vries called all in from the big blind and the hands were tabled.

Action folded to Matt Marafioti on the button who raised to 48,000. Max Lykov surrendered his small blind and then Jason Mercier moved all in for effectively 324,000. Marafioti snapped it off.
