Kranich Canned

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Moritz Kranich
Moritz Kranich

Action folded to Moritz Kranich in the small blind and he shipped it for 119,000. Govert Metaal called from the big blind to put Kranich at risk.

Metaal: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Kranich: {Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The board ran out an uneventful {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Kranich was sent to the rail in 18th place, making his the third elimination within minutes.

Gruissem Finishes in 17th Place as the Bubble Boy

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

It didn't take long for the money bubble to burst in the $25,000 High Roller tournament. A short-stacked Philipp Gruissem moved all in for 70,000 and was called by Team PokerStars Pro (USA) Jason Mercier.

Gruissem: {A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Mercier: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Mercier was far ahead and stayed there as the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. With that, Gruissem becomes the bubble boy by finishing in 17th place.

Ty Reiman Eliminated in 16th Place ($55,490)

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Ty Reiman-16th Place
Ty Reiman-16th Place

Action folded to Brett Richey in the hijack and he raised and was immediately met with a three-bet from Ty Reiman in the cutoff. Richey responded by moving all in and Reiman called for his tournament life.

Reiman: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Richey: {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Reiman was ahead with his pocket pair but not after the flop fell {5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{A-Clubs}. Suddenly last year's PCA Main Event runner-up needed to catch a nine to stay alive. The {3-Spades} turn was no help and it was down to the river. Unfortunately for Reiman, the last card he would see was the {J-Diamonds}. He was eliminated from the $25,000 High Roller tournament in 16th place and will take home $55,490. Meanwhile, Richey is up to 790,000.

Ace to Stay Alive

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Tom Marchese raised to 23,000 in early position only to have Brandon Steven push all in for 105,000 from the cutoff. Erik Seidel then isolated by moving all in from the small blind, which forced Marchese to fold.

Seidel: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Steven: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Steven was at risk and his best bet to survive was to catch an ace. He couldn't do it on the {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, but the {A-Clubs} turn gave him what he needed. The {4-Hearts} river didn't help Seidel and he dropped to 233,000. Steven, on the other hand, doubled to 252,000.

Baking Something Special

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to David "Bakes" Baker in the cutoff and he promptly raised to 25,000. Shander de Vries made the call from the button and the two players watched the flop come {5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Baker led out for 42,000 and de Vries called behind.

When the dealer burned and turned the {3-Diamonds}, Baker bet 98,000 and again de Vries called behind. The river was the {7-Spades} and Baker opted to move all in. It was a huge bet and de Vries thought better of a call, deciding a fold was in his best interest. With that win, Baker is up to 830,000 and de Vries dropped to 380,000.
