Dan Shak - Runner-Up

Fabian Quoss called from the button with {8-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Dan Shak checked from the big blind with {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Shak check-called 200,000.

The {9-Diamonds} came on the turn giving Quoss a straight and Shak checked over to the German professional. Quoss moved 425,000 forward and Shak moved all in for 2.275 million. Quoss snapped him off and the hands were rolled over.

Shak was left searching for a king or an eight on the river to make a better straight and double up.

The anticipation reached an all time high among Quoss' German rail, as they began drumming their hands on the rail while they waited for the final card to be dealt.

The dealer rapped the table and produced the river card - the {A-Clubs}!

Quoss clinched the victory and Shak was eliminated in second place for the second time in three years. He collected $1,178,980 in second-place prize money.
