Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Returns Jan. 22-Feb. 11, 2015

The Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open (LHPO) returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, Jan. 22 through Feb. 11, 2015, held in the resort’s ballrooms. The series will feature 21 main events along with several secondary events and qualifiers. The exciting live poker action culminates with the Seminole Hard Rock WPT Lucky Hearts $3 Million Guaranteed Championship beginning Feb. 5-11, with a $3,500 buy-in and three starting flights. The live streamed Championship final table will be held at the resort’s Paradise Live theater in Seminole Paradise.

The annual series kicks-off on Jan. 22 at 11a.m. ET with a four-day $570 buy-in deep-stack no-limit hold'em event featuring a $1 million guaranteed prize pool with six starting flights.

Super Bowl weekend will bring even more action with the WPTDeepStacks (WPTDS), which will kick off its 2015 tour at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. WPTDS is a one-of-a-kind partnership between the world’s most established poker tour, WPT®, and the world’s fastest growing poker tour, DSPT. The $1,100 buy-in, $300,000 Guarantee WPTDeepStacks-Hollywood will start Jan. 29 at 12 p.m. ET in the resort’s ballrooms.

Other highlight tournaments include a $350 buy-in deep-stack no-limit hold'em, $250,000 guarantee with five starting flights, from Jan. 25-28 and a two-day $150 buy-in no-limit hold’em $150,000 guarantee with eight starting flights from Jan. 28-31.

Satellite events for the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Jan. 22-Feb. 7, 2015.

Registration for all LHPO events will be open Dec. 15, 2015. To participate, players must obtain a free “Wild Card” at the Player’s Club or in The Poker Room at Seminole Paradise, located on State Road 7 (U.S. 441) in Hollywood, Florida. Oleksii Khoroshenin raised to 60,000 from first position, Dominik Nitsche three-bet to 140,000 on the button and Khoroshenin called.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Khoroshenin checked to Nitsche who bet 110,000. Khoroshenin tanked for about two minutes before he check-raised to 260,000. Nitshce reraised to effectively 843,000 and Khoroshenin called all in.

The {4-Diamonds} turn locked it up for Khoroshenin with a full house, rendering the {4-Spades} river moot.

Kuether Bests Markholt

Lee Markholt made it 70,000 from the button and Joe Kuether called from the big blind. The flop fell {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and Kuether check-called a continuation bet of 60,000. The {2-Spades} hit the turn and Kuether checked again. This time, Markholt checked it back, allowing the {6-Hearts} to finish the board.

Kuether bet 130,000, Markholt folded, and Kuether won the pot. He now has about 2.18 million while Markholt has fallen to 830,000.

From under the gun, Ilkin Garibli opened to 65,000. Faraz Jaka called from the big blind, and the flop came down {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Both checked, and the turn was the {7-Diamonds}. Both checked again, and the river was the {Q-Diamonds}. Once again, both Jaka and Garibli checked.

Jaka rolled over the {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, and Garibli mucked his hand.

Savard and Petrangelo Clash

Picking up the action on the turn of a {J-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board, Jean-Pascal Savard bet 132,000 from the small blind. Nick Petrangelo called from the cutoff and the {9-Spades} river completed the board. Savard fired 305,000, sending Petrangelo into the tank for about two minutes before he folded.

The following hand, Petrangelo opened to 65,000 from under the gun and Savard called on the button. The flop fell {K-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Petrangelo bet 80,000. Savard called to see the {6-Clubs} turn, both checked and the {3-Hearts} river completed the board. Petrangelo bet 283,000 and now it was Savard's turn to tank.

"So weird," commented Savard.

About two minutes passed before Savard opted to lay it down.

Garibli Doubles Through Jaka

Picking up with the action on a completed board of {2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, Faraz Jaka moved all in against Ilkin Garibli. Garibli was in the tank and pondering calling for his tournament life of his remaining 506,000.

A few moments passed before Garibli announced a call. Jaka showed {A-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a pair of aces. Garibli had that beat, however, with {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for two pair of aces and deuces. Garibli scored the double up and now has about 1.6 million, Jaka, on the other hand, has dropped to 395,000.
