Leonardo Pires Eliminated in 13th Place ($45,860)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Leonardo Pires - 13th Place
Leonardo Pires - 13th Place

"Anyone smell a meltdown?" Matt Broughton asked on the live stream. It pretty much summed up Leonardo Pires' last 90 minutes.

After being crippled in the last hand of Level 25,everyone wondered whether he'd be able to recover after the break. He didn't make the crowd wait long to find out the answer.

In the first hand back from break, Mike Watson raised to 90,000 from the hijack and Ken Demlakian called from the cutoff. When action reached Pires in the big blind, he just moved all in for 1.65 million. Watson shoved all in over the top and Demlakian got out of the way.

Watson: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Pires: {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

Pires opted to shove with a weak hand, but he got a sweat when the {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop paired his three. Unfortunately for him, the {10-Diamonds} spiked on the turn to leave him drawing dead to Watson's set.

The meaningless {6-Diamonds} was put out on the river, and the start-of-the-day chip leader, who has been the overall chip leader the last couple of days, took his leave in 13th place for $45,860.

Martin McCormick Eliminated in 11th Place ($51,260)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Martin McCormick
Martin McCormick

The action folded around to Ken Demlakian in the small blind, and he was invited by Martin McCormick to call blind.

McCormick kept things in the dark, as he didn't look at his cards before checking.

The flop brought out {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs} and McCormick kept encouraging Demlakian to play blind, and the Aussie listened as he checked, and McCormick checked as well.

The turn was the {A-Spades}, and McCormick said, "Come on, don't bet, let's keep checking."

Demlakian however, looked at his cards and bet 60,000.

"All in!" McCormick yelled, right after having checked his own cards.

Demlakian, a bit surprised by the all in for 860,000, double checked his cards and made the call.

McCormick: {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Demlakian: {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

McCormick still had a lot of outs, but the river was the {8-Diamonds}, sending the most colorfull character of the tournament to the rail. McCormick provided lots of entertainment for both the players and the fans, but the tournament will continue with 10 players and without him.

Watson Takes a Big One From Demlakian

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Everyone folded to Mike Watson in the small blind and he raised to 100,000 and Ken Demlakian called from the big blind.

The flop brought out {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and Watson bet 100,000 from the small blind and Demlakian called again.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Watson bet 250,000, and Demlakian made the call.

On the river the {Q-Hearts} hit and Watson fired out 400,000. Demlakian went into the tank for quite some time before making the call.

Watson showed {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and he took down another big pot.

Gregg Up, Lewis Down

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Tony Gregg raised to 90,000 from the cutoff and was met by a three-bet to 275,000 by Toby Lewis in the small blind. Gregg made the call and the two watched the flop come down {4-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

Lewis check-called a bet of 210,000, both players checked the {4-Hearts} turn, and Lewis checked for a third time on the {10-Clubs} river. Gregg bet 585,000 and Lewis hit the tank before ultimately releasing his hand.

Big Slick Does the Trick for Troyanovskiy

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Vladimir Troyanovskiy

Vladimir Troyanovskiy raised to 90,000 from the button only to have chip leader Mike Watson three-bet to 240,000 from the small blind. Troyanovskiy responded by four-betting to 610,000, and Watson five-bet all in. Troyanovskiy snap-called off for 2.32 million total.

Troyanovskiy: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Watson: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

It was a flip, but not after the flop came down {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to give Troyanovskiy trips. Neither the {J-Diamonds} turn nor {8-Diamonds} river was the black nine Watson needed, and he shipped over a big stack of chips to Troyanovskiy.

Ulmer's Overbet

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Timothy Ulmer defended his big blind from an 85,000 open by cutoff David Eldridge. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Ulmer check-called 70,000. Both players checked when the board paired again on the {7-Spades} turn, and a boat was on the felt when the {7-Clubs} hit the river. Ulmer fired 500,000, and Eldridge tanked awhile, said something to Ulmer, and folded.

Four-Bet Pot Between Eldridge and McAllister

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Phillip McAllister opened for 90,000 under the gun and got one caller before David Eldridge repopped to 240,000 in the big blind. McAllister wasn't done with the raising and he came back with 485,000, isolating Eldridge, who tank-called. The flop was {3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, and Eldridge checked. McAllister bet 260,000, and after a lengthy tanking session, Eldridge let his hand go.
