The day started out with around 50 players taking their seats inside the ballroom of the Atlantis hotel. That number quickly grew as players continued to enter and re-enter. Everyone was allowed a single re-entry, some of which took full advantage of. When late registration was closed after the dinner break, a total of 290 entries were tallied.

That made up a prizepool of $421,950 which would be distributed throughout the final 39 players. A min-cash will be worth $2,900 but everyone will be in search of the first-place prize of $84,600. Along with the title, the winner will also receive a Platinum Pass into the 2019 PSPC $25,000 event held next January.

The action will resume at 12:00 P.M. local time on Monday. The schedule is set to play another 11 levels, which will continue at 60-minutes in length. There will be a 20-minute break after every two levels and an 80-minute dinner break after the sixth level of the day. The blinds will resume at 1,000/2,000 with a running ante of 300. Greenstein Hits the Rail Late on Day 1

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

James Stewart opened from the cutoff and Barry Greenstein pushed all in for his last 29,000 out of the big blind. Stewart quickly called and the cards were tabled. It was a classic race situation with Stewart holding pocket queens and Greenstein having the ace-king.

The flop brought a king, giving Greenstein some hope of staying alive, but it was quickly followed by a queen. Stewart's set of queens held on to eliminate Greenstein in the last level of Day 1.

Blanco Takes a Piece of Lindsay's Growing Stack

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Katie Lindsay
Katie Lindsay

After taking a large chunk of chips from Sharman Olshan sitting directly to her right, Katie Lindsay found herself in another pot with Lucas Blanco. The board read {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Blanco led out for 5,500 from middle position. Lindsay called on the button and the {4-Clubs} landed on the river.

Blanco fired another 12,000 and Lindsay quickly paid him off. Blanco showed {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} for two pair and Lindsay nodded her head as she sent her cards flying. It was just another small dent in the new chip leader's stack.

Farrow Gets It All from Greenwood

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Luc Greenwood
Luc Greenwood

With around 11,000 in the pot preflop, the board read {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}. Mike Farrow led out for 3,600 from the big blind and Lucas Greenwood called from the cutoff.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and both players checked to the {3-Clubs} on the river. Farrow checked again and Greenwood made a bet of 12,000. Farrow called and Greenwood turned over {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a missed straight draw, and Farrow took the pot with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

In the next hand, Greenwood opened to 1,500 from the hijack and Farrow three-bet to 4,300 from the small blind. With the action back on Greenwood, he shipped all in for around 24,000. Farrow quickly called and the hands were tabled.

Mike Farrow: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Lucas Greenwood: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Farrow's pair of jacks held up to eliminate Greenwood.

Blanco Fills Up on the River

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante
Lucas Blanco
Lucas Blanco

We arrived at the table to find the board reading {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and Daniel Rezaei had all of his chips in the middle on the button. He was up against Lucas Blanco in the big blind and was faced with the bad news.

Rezaei held {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, missing his nut flush draw on the turn but wound up with trip aces. However, Blanco revealed {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} for a full house and Rezaei's chips were pushed across the table to his opponent. Blanco stacked a healthy stack of nearly 45,000 and Rezaei was eliminated.
