Cards Back In The Air

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

The first break of the night is over, and players are back in action for Level 6 with blinds at 200/400 and a big blind ante of 400. There are at least 260 entries so far, but tournament staff are still counting all the beans. One in ten players will get tickets to the $600 and $1,100 events, and once the final numbers are in, they'll be posted here.

Sperber Hits His Ace

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

After Wes Traill raised from the hijack, Shawn Sperber called from the small blind, and the big blind came along as well. Action checked around on the {6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, but when the turn came {a-Clubs} Sperber fired out a bet of 600.

He was called by both opponents, and action checked around again on the {j-Spades} river. Sperber rolled over {a-}{5-} for the turned pair, and the other players mucked their hands.

Luhowy Binks The River to Stay Alive

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player in middle position opened the action by moving all in for his last 4,900. The player on the button made the call and Nick Luhowy tossed in his last 2,100 from the big blind.

Middle Position: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Button: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Luhowy: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

The flop of {10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs} put the button in the lead. The {5-Hearts} turn card was no help to anyone, but the {7-Hearts} river gave Luhowy a set which gave him the triple up.

Extra Ticket Awarded

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Players in the satellite are all playing for entries into the $600 and $1,000 tournaments here this week, but alongside the early levels of action, PlayNow was also sponsoring a free draw for a ticket to tomorrow's $600 event. That draw has just concluded with Larry B. as the lucky winner of a seat tomorrow night.

During tomorrow's action, a similar draw will take place for a free ticker into Friday's $300 Bounty event.

Gingras Aggression Wins It

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

After a raise from middle position to 1,200, Maurice Gingras reraised to 2,200 before everyone else got out of the way. His opponent called and the flop came {2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{k-Spades}. After a check, Gingras fired 1,300 into the middle and his opponent quickly mucked.

Watt Gets It In Good

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Action folded around to a player in the hijack who moved all in, Eddy Watt was next to act and sent the last of his 4,400 stack into the middle. The remaining players folded and the players turned their cards over.

Watt: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

It was a sweat after the players saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, giving the player in the hijack an open-ended straight draw. But Watt was able to fade it when the board completed {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Traill On A Rollercoaster

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Action folded to Wes Traill in early position and he jammed for 7,700 chips. He was called by Deven Lane in the cutoff, and everyone else got out of the way.

Traill was in good shape with tens over the eights of Lane, but that all changed on the {8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop. After the {6-Spades} hit the turn, another player at the table playfully called for a seven. Sure enough, the dealer laid down {7-Hearts} on the river for Traill to go runner-runner straight to win.

His full double up left his Lane on fumes with just a single 100 chip behind, but he's managed to survive and double a few hands, but is still sitting with a very short stack.
