Chu Jams Up His Stack; Phua Near the Top

Level 12 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Chi-Jen Chu checked the {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} turn and then called a bet worth 180,000 by Wai Leong Chan. The {k-Diamonds} fell on the river and Chu now pushed all-in for 429,000. Leong asked for an exact count and folded thereafter.

The same table brought another big pot soon after in which Paul Phua skyrocketed near the top of the leaderboard as Day 1 nears an end. According to the table, Phua had flopped a full house while Kannapong Thanarattrakul held trips and that left the latter on fumes.

Level 12 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Jun Wah Yap
Jun Wah Yap

Jun Wah Yap and fellow countryman Wai Kiat Lee had tangled in several hands earlier and it seemed just a matter of time until they would get the chips in. That's what happened as Yap was the one at risk for 267,000.

Jun Wah Yap: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Wai Kiat Lee: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The pocket pair fell behind on the {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades} turn and the {2-Diamonds} river ensured the double for Yap.

No Miracle Comeback for Thanarattrakul

Level 12 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Kannapong Thanarattrakul
Kannapong Thanarattrakul

Kannapong Thanarattrakul was all-in for fumes and Chi Zhang as well as Paul Phua checked it down on the {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board. Zhang mucked his cards while Thanarattrakul exposed the {a-Clubs} and Phua showed his {a-Diamonds}. Thanarattrakul then flashed the {5-Spades} as he made a pair and Phua mucked his {10-Spades} with a big smile on the face.

Thanarattrakul was all-in for some 110,000 moments later and faced Zhang in showdown.

Kannapong Thanarattrakul: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Chi Zhang: {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Both hit their kickers on the {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades} board as Thanarattrakul escaped once more. He joked that no rebuy would be needed now yet that will most likely happen as Zhang knocked him out during the next hands.
