Chu Eliminated by Yap

Level 8 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Down to around 105,000, Chi-Jen Chu moved all-in from under the gun. Jun Wah Yap then jammed all-in over the top on the button to force out the blinds.

Chi-Jen Chu: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Jun Wah Yap: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop improved Yap to the top pair and top kicker while Chu needed a ten for broadway or running cards. Neither came on the {3-Diamonds} turn an {9-Clubs} river to end his run for now.

Three ways to the {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} river, Quang Nang Nguyen in the big blind bet 51,000. Hien Van Dang raised to 155,000 only for the table big stack Supitong Popiyukkul to reraise, making it 300,000 to go. Two folds later, the pot was shipped to Popiyukkul as he continued the cruise near the top of the leaderboard.

Following an open raise to 12,000, Vincent Huang pushed his shorter stack into the middle. He was cold-called by Wai Leong Chan and the rest of the table including the initial raiser folded.

Vincent Huang: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Wai Leong Chan: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {j-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} board delivered the blow for Huang on the turn while Chi Zhang added "I would have won, ace jack".

Takayama Out Before the Dinner Break

Level 8 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Chung Chuen Co was spotted raking in a big pot and the cards as well as the board were still tabled while most other players had already left for the dinner break. On a board of {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, he had looked up a shove by Mike Takayama and was shown the {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a gutsy bluff with the missed flush draw.

Co's {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for queens and treys were good enough for the knockout as he leaped to a seven-figure stack.

Zhang Doubles; Ved Sent to the Rail

Level 9 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Chi Zhang
Chi Zhang

On a completed board of {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} with some 293,000 in the middle, Kartik Ved checked out of the big blind. Chi Zhang then pushed all-in for 349,000 and that sent the Indian deep into the tank. He used four time bank extensions before he made the call, having Zhang barely covered.

Zhang tabled the {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for two pair and Ved mucked.

In the next hand, Ved was all-in before the flop out of the small blind while Chi-Jen Chu and Ling Tien Loon completed for the side pot. The {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop was checked by Chu, then then folded when Loon bet 55,000.

Kartik Ved: {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Ling Tien Yoon: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The {q-Spades} turn left Ved drawing dead to make the {2-Clubs} river a formality.
