Lim Fires Three Barrels Against Zhang

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Gai Lax Lim raised to 12,000 and chip leader Lijun Zhang called out of the big blind. On a 622 flop, Zhang check-called for 15,000 and did so again for 25,000 on the K turn. The river brought a fourth spade with the 5 and Zhang checked the third street in a row.

Lim now pushed all-in for 54,000 and Zhang folded after getting an exact count.

"Show the bluff," Alessandro Taranto demanded and Lim flashed the 4.

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Alan Tsang was all-in for 68,000 with the KK and William Teoh had some outs holding the AQ. The pair remained ahead on the 1043105 board and Tsang doubled.

William Teoh: A10
Chi Fu Sze: AQ

Taranto Bust "Willy" To Set Up Redraw

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Alessandro Taranto
Alessandro Taranto

Down to the last 57,000, "Willy" was all-in with the AQ and he was looked up by Alessandro Taranto with the dominating AK.

The K42 flop gave Taranto the top pair and top kicker while "Willy" had the nut flush draw. Nothing changed with the 5 turn and 4 river, which reduced the field to the final 24 players.

Only 22 of them will advance and there is now a short break to set up the new live-stream table before the bubble rush is going to continue.

Cheong Eliminated by Lee on the Day 1a Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Yuan Xiang Cheong
Yuan Xiang Cheong

On the outer tables, Suya Lee raised it up on the button and Yuan Xiang Cheong three-bet jammed out of the small blind. Lee inquired for his raising chips to be pulled in and it was another 46,000 on top. The reluctant call by Lee followed and a crowd gathered around the tables ahead of the showdown, once all other tables were completed.

Yuan Xiang Cheong: AK
Suya Lee: AJ

Lee paced around the table and then celebrated when the AJ8 flop improved his hand to aces and jacks. The A turn made that aces full of jacks and the 4 river let the Day 1a bubble burst with 34:22 minutes remaining in level 17.

All 22 survivors will bag up their chips and return on Saturday, May 6, 2023 with a min-cash already locked up.
