A preflop raising war saw David Erquiaga squeeze to 70,000 out of the big blind. It folded back to Jinlong Hu, who moved all-in for more than 200,000. Erquiaga was covered by then and tank-folded.

Soon after, Gonzaga picked up another premium pocket pair to take on Konstantinos Misailidis. The Greek flopped a set of jacks but the uproar on the table concluded another fortunate runout for Gonzaga with the Q♠Q♥. As the board came J♠6♦2♣7♦Q♦, Gonzaga rivered the superior set.

Just before the blinds had gone up, Nicola Montalbano three-bet to 18,000 and Wee Lee Lim then four-bet pushed for 109,000. Montalbano asked for an exact count and made the call, setting up the most classic of coin flips.

Linh Ran Nguyen had won yet more chips while Jason Ong on the same table was left with a short stack, which he pushed in from an early position for 37,500. Chip leader Ryan McAllister called and everybody else got out of the way.
