Li Left Short After Tussle With Jeremias

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Xiaoling Li
Xiaoling Li

Having defended the big blind against a raise by Xiaoling Li, Joseroy Jeremias checked the 1042 flop. Li continued for 2,000 only to get check-raised to 6,000 and opted to come along to the 8 turn.

Jeremias instantly pushed all-in with the covering stack and Li reluctantly folded. She inquired whether or not Jeremias would show, to which her opponent replied "you show, I show". The cards of Li had hit the muck already and her attempt at retrieving them were not successful.

"I had ace-ten," she said and Jeremias then replied "good fold", before flashing the 104.

Thompson Scores a Knockout

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Gary Thompson
Gary Thompson

The seats of Joseph Magnotti and Kyunghun Kim over on table six are empty and both recently departed. Joseph Reyes had increased his stack and Gary Thompson then did the same by knocking out Kim.

A battle of the blinds led to the A829 turn that got checked through. Kim bet the 3 river for 3,700 and instantly called all-in when Thompson splashed in his T-5,000 chips for a big raise. Thompson flipped over the 33 for a rivered set and Kim sighed, then sent his cards straight into the muck.

Manalastas Felted by Lee

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Towards the end of level eight, a short-stacked Carlot Manalastas was all-in with the A6 in the secondary tournament area. Cheong Yew Lee looked him up while enjoying a massage and turned over the JJ.

The QQ2K9 runout provided no help at all to Manalastas and he quickly departed out of the tournament area.

Won Jae Lee

A reraise to 5,600 was out in front of Won jae Lee and Paul Fontan Castrillon then squeezed to more than 50,000, which had the South Korean covered. Deep in the tank, Lee eventually called it off for the 26,900 he had behind.

Won Jae Lee: QJ
Paul Fontan Castrillon: KK

The K103 flop provided some outs with the open-ended straight draw but the 3 turn ended Lee's run for now, which made the Q river a formality.

Rasid Paitao
Rasid Paitao

Jen Chun Chiu had started well by cracking aces for a full double in the first level but from there on, nothing much went his way. Eventually, the player from Taiwan was whittled down to the starting stack and took on Rasid Paitao.

On a AK10 flop, Chiu bet 2,500 into 9,000 and was called before he check-called for 8,400 on the A turn. The 5 river saw the shove of Chiu with the A8 and Paitao called him down with AJ for the superior kicker.

Intia Jams Up Stack Without Showdown

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Benigno Ledina raised to 2,500 and Valeriy Pak called from one seat over in the hijack. Jester Intia then three-bet to 17,500 on the button and Ledina tanked for a while, flat-called. That forced out Pak as the 954 flop followed. Ledina's check was met by a shove from Intia and the former folded the AK face-up.
