The inaugural Pokercode Festival at Banco Casino Bratislava roared ahead on Day 1b of the €125,000 guaranteed Pokercode Festival Bratislava Main Event with 122 entries getting into the action to bring the total field size after the first two opening flights up to 197 entries.

The figure will be higher by the time late registration closes with more than 30 players battling it out in the turbo Day 1c and players allowed to late register and re-enter until the close of the first blind level of Saturday's Day 2.

Slovakia's Pavel Chalupka bagged the Day 1b chip lead with a stack of 430,000 placing him in the overall chip lead after passing Day 1a chip leader Vladimir Bednar who bagged 421,500. Alexander Baier was the only other player to advance thus far with more than 400,000 in chips after bagging the second-biggest stack on Day 1b.

Meanwhile, active Pokercode community member Tim Bakker had an amazing day and ended Day 1b with 356,500. Bakker catapulted to near the top of the leaderboard after he eliminated two players in the same hand including Andrej Desset.

Desset wasn't the only huge name battling it out on Day 1b as both Steffen Sontheimer and Mario Mosbock got into the action. Sontheimer fired two bullets only to come up empty-handed while Mosbock advanced to Day 2 with a short stack.

Bakker Takes Out Desset and Reimer

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Tim Bakker has just chipped up to nearly 280,000 and shared with PokerNews a big hand where he just eliminated both Andrej Desset and Daniel Reimer.

Bakker opened to 3,300 from middle position and was called by Reimer from late position. Desset three-bet to 11,000 from the blinds and both Bakker and Reimer called.

Desset and Bakker checked the {q-}{q-}{6-} flop before pandemonium broke loose. Reimer jammed and Desset came in for a bit more. Bakker called them both to create a pot of around 140,000.

Daniel Reimer: {8-}{8-}
Andrej Desset: {j-}{j-}
Tim Bakker: {k-}{q-}

Bakker nailed trips and both Desset and Reimer bricked the rest of the board to head to the rail. Meanwhile, Bakker appeared to take the Day 1b chip lead after the hand.

Recreational Vibe

The Pokercode Festival prides itself on providing a poker holiday for both recreational and professional players alike. Those in the Pokercode community have a great opportunity to meet many of the members of the popular Pokercode Grindhouse but will also be able to rub shoulders with one of the most successful poker players of all time in Pokercode founder Fedor Holz.

In addition, Pokercode has a lounge set up for players to chill out when they aren't playing. The lounge not only provides darts and air hockey but also a punching machine for those that need to release some energy to potentially prevent tilting.
